| Posted: 30 May 2020 06:49 PM PDT Weĺl what to say? Today i completed my first NG++ on this game. What a fun trip this has been. I picked it up during quarantine, and now, after 240 hours and 2 characters made, with 2 totally different builds, i saw the ending for the 3rd time. At first i didn't want to play it,'cause of all the people out there sayin the game it's trash... wich is sooo far from the truth, and any human logic. So i decided to scream here somenthing that's on my mind, after beatin this one: Dark Souls 2 is a better videogame then Dark Souls 1. And this is by a critic standpoint. Controls, geapich, camera, battle system (even if over simplified in the moveset department, compared to the first one) and overall presentation made the game a much more enjoyable experience for somebody new to the franchise. Now, i get that in the Dark Souls community it goes by the game sucks, but, that is a big fat lie. The one who sucks is Dark Souls . The first one. Controls and camera are horrible ( if u say it's not true, you are not a human being), the inventory is a mess and the performance of the engine suck, even for a 2009 game ( you guys do remember Bloght Town right?). That's been said, Dark Souls, the first one is my favorite. For the lore, the wondrous setting ( wich is better then Dark Souls 2) and the overall feeling of the game. But is not a better game, not at all. Is flawed, in a way worse, way way worse then Darl Souls 2, at least in the Technical Department. Main issue i think with Dark Souls 2 is that didn't deliver what the community was asking for, wich is more of the same. They went down a different path with the sequel. Trying to get balance beetween what Dark Souls and Demon Souls are. And it did it. Is a perfect game? NO. Is my favourite? NO. But is far from being trash as a lot of people say. Is different from the first one, and unique, in it's own way. And for that does deserve some love. Now, what really upset me in the first, wich was the reason i did not go past the tutorial, was the false advertising back then. The game got a downgrade so bad from what we first saw, that can be defined as the Masterpiece of false advertising. But is not a bad game, not at all. And the proof is the number of people still playing it. The game is very active,expecially in the PvP scene, but Soul Memory was a dumb idea... Well, anyway, that's my opinion on Dark Souls 2. If i should give a score out of 10, it would be 7.5 . Wich means a good game with some flaws. Not a masterpiece, but not trash. [link] [comments] |

| another rant about how ds2 online bans work Posted: 31 May 2020 01:03 PM PDT So today i got banned after force quitting with phantoms and was confused on why the game counts this as illegal online disconnection when there is literally no reds in my world just npc phantoms. Also my internet is pretty bad so i lag out a lot when i'm with hosts or as a summoned phantom which isn't froms fault because i guess their system can't determine between force quitting and lagging out and if they did people would just pull the plug to by pass it but still banned for force quitting with NPCs in my world wtf I don't see why froms system counts npc phantoms as actually online players because they aren't and how you can get banned from disconnecting with just npcs and no online players [link] [comments] |

I feel that DS2 doesn't get that much attention from a lore perspective and I know that it's mostly because so many things are up in the air. Do people think that this is a worthy cause or have most of the questions been answered? Keep in mind that my skills won't allow me to break the game in any way, but rather I will piece together what is in-game to try to create a formal document for consensus like how The Paleblood Hunt doc did for Bloodborne. | Posted: 31 May 2020 11:01 AM PDT So I got the dlc by using a friends account (because he has a different region store and already bought the dlc) and downloaded it successfully, it showed in the game utility. And when Iogged back in the keys to the dlc weren't there. I tried the following: creating a new character, delete and reinstall the dlc, tried to create a new character using my friends psn, and even searched in majula to check if it's in the chest or pit, and none solved the issue.
