Posted: 30 May 2020 07:12 AM PDT After much struggling and yelling like I have done from trying to figure out to kill the pursuer with the ballista, trying to figure out how to get rid of the poison to beat mytha, getting through the alonne knights without getting my ass kicked, then getting my ass kicked by smelter demon, and then getting my ass kicked by getting hit into that hole by the Old Iron King. I have finally made it to Drangleic Castle....and my god I've already yelled so much bc of the fuckin elephant guards...I don't think i'll ever watch Dumbo again...anyways all I have to say is this game is better than I thought it would be. I remember when the game came out I wouldn't play it at all because of all my friends that were so into dark souls say it was trash, but I regret not playing it then. The game isn't that bad (yea there are some flaws but sometimes flaws aren't so bad). This has been a fun journey and I'll definitely find myself playing this game over and over in the future. I beat Lud and Zallen and Fume Knight with a USB Steering Wheel today Posted: 30 May 2020 11:21 AM PDT It was an amazing feeling. My all bosses steering wheel journey is almost complete. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 May 2020 06:39 PM PDT I was nervous and tried to intimidate him by Dual Wielding my bare hands so he'd think I equipped the weapon invisibility ring... Fast-forward two and a half seconds and he proceeds to literally shrug it off and we proceed to have a full on fist fight, shit was hilarious. A bell keeper ruined the fun tho, so invader waves me good bye and that's it. 10/10 would be invaded again [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 May 2020 05:21 AM PDT One thing that strikes me as strange is how there isn't a single town in Drangleic and especially in the vicinity of the king's castle... which is itself a huge building with no living quarters to speak of. The same reasoning can be applied to the Iron Keep, although the "iron township" could have been swallowed by lava for all we know. The only town we see (but can't visit) in the game is the one within the walls of Eleum Loyce. I don't consider Shulva as a town because it is more of a cerimonial complex and lacks of living spaces. I am sure that a town between the Ruined Fork Roads and Castle Drangleic would have given some more depth to the gameworld by showing that Vendrick was ruling over something and not just over some monster-infested ruins. As for the Shrine of Winter, it would have been more logical to move it to the primal bonfire area after the Lost Sinner, since the latter's connection to Eleum Loyce. This way every primal bonfire would have had a "teleporting station" nearby whereas in the game Rotten has Shulva, Old Iron King has Brume Tower, Freja has the dragon memory and Lost Sinner has nothing. Just beaten double Pursuers in NG+ Posted: 30 May 2020 06:27 AM PDT What a difficult encounter... It felt like i was fighting Fume Knight for the very first time: very small healing window, extremely unforgiving, and so satisfying. I will for sure gonna parry every Pursuer i see henceforth because i feel like i memorized every move they have lol. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 May 2020 10:37 AM PDT Okay so I need to get to Drangleic castle as soon as possible. In order to do that I have to beat 4 main bosses ( I think Rotten, Freja, Lost Sinner and one more). Can someone tell me the fastest way to beat all of them? The fastest way/route? Thanks in advance guys Alternative: If someone has around 2 milion souls to dupe or give that would also work, anyone? High damage strength & faith fun run Posted: 30 May 2020 06:45 AM PDT Hello! I'm playing back through the games and I just started a high damage faith and strength run. I am power stancing maces, throwing lightning bolts, and waging a one man war against the iron keep. What are your tips? I just finished an "intentional" run of Dark Souls where I ran around getting most of the equipment I wanted as quickly as possible. I got my great club, grass crest shield, ring of FAP, etc so that I could spend the time playing the parts of the game I liked. I ended up finishing in about ten hours killing all bosses besides Pricilla and moonlight butterfly, because I don't like those fights. Now I'm trying to do something similar with Dark Souls 2, though I am considerably less familiar with it. I started with grabbing the ring of binding. I rushed through last giant and pursuer without killing any other enemies, so I kept my soul level/memory down. I tried to get the last dragon rider to trip off the platform, but couldn't get the roll right so beat him the normal way. I unlocked miracles and went to Macduff and I beat the pursuer in Lost Bastille. That's where I kind of lost track of what to do. I used the branch of yore on the statue in Things betwixt because I remembered there being an estus shard there, and I still was on my first estus. I forgot I needed one to get to the lost dinner from where the eagle drops you off in lost bastille. So I ran through huntsman's copse and got to Iron Keep without too much trouble. I just got through the first round of Alonne knights, and am at the point where I can go after smelter demon or just continue through. I'm still pretty low level and don't really remember the game well enough to know what to do next or what I'm missing. I remember liking Iron Keep, so I'm slowing down and playing my way through this part the "normal" way. I have +6 maces and lightning spears plus some healing. I'd like to build a high damage output faith and strength character (power stance plus offensive miracles). What do I need to grab to make this more fun? Any tips from players who have done a similar build? Oh, also I went to the altar of sunlight because praise. Always ready to coop if someone wants to join me. [link] [comments] |
I’ve beaten this game twice without knowing what company of champions does Posted: 29 May 2020 05:14 PM PDT I don't know how I did this but playing the game at launch and scholar on ps4 I never saw summons signs and thought the game was dead. Playing on pc today I decided to actually be smart and saw what the covenant did and I feel like a moron and the game def isn't dead That is all [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 May 2020 08:10 AM PDT I seriously feel like half of the people I face either will run away and heal with warmth, or literally never swing until I swing first or backstab fish. Don't get me wrong , I absolutely love invading in this game, almost more than ds3, but the arena is full of tryhard crybabies, it's pathetic. I even had someone message me after I black crystaled out because they kept healing and they had the audacity to talk shit to me. I laughed it off of course, because he should be ashamed, not me. Anyways, just a random rant 🤣 [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 May 2020 11:53 AM PDT So today I decided to start yet another run. Picked up a few things in the Forest of Fallen Giants and then went down to Black Gulch. Farmed up a bunch of Chunks, made a +9 Rapier (just ran out of souls and didn't think I'd need a +10) and took on Pursuer. Could not figure out why I was missing so often, nor why I was doing so little damage (mid 60s). But I did win (and just ran away from the Hollow Soldiers. Wanted no part of them doing so little damage). When I got to Majula all became clear. Instead of a +9 Rapier I had equipped a +0 Mail Breaker (I did mention I had picked up a few things in the Forest). For those who haven't played with it, the Mail Breaker combines lack of reach, poor base damage and mediocre scaling. It does have shield pierce and a good critical but it's still among the very worst weapons in the game. The moral of the story I guess is tidy up your inventory. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 May 2020 02:43 PM PDT So, as I usually preface most of my posts with, I am a completionist when it comes to RPG's or really any game I invest time and energy in. For example, in DS:R, I managed to not only unlock all of the achievements but also acquire at least one of every item, weapon, piece of armor, etc. that exists in the game. Kindled every bonfire to the max. Et cetera - you see what I'm getting at. I am hoping/intending to do the same for DS2. I can probably already accept that I will have to make an exception for the Illusionary Rings, though who knows. But, most importantly, I've noticed in several posts and comments here that there seem to be items (example: pieces of an armor set) that only drop from certain bosses or other non-re-spawning enemies, and which are also rare drops even while at max discovery. Is this true? If so, are there quite a few items that fit that description - making them extremely difficult to farm? I'm thinking back to DS:R, and the only two items I recall having to grind repeatedly for were the Balder Side Sword and - even worse for me - the Oolacile Catalyst. But, I at least knew that it was only a matter of time and repetitive grinding before I got those drops. If they had only been drops from non-respawning enemies - meaning I had no choice but hope to get it in later playthroughs - that would have been very disappointing. Hoping that's not the case in DS2! Appreciate any insight! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 May 2020 02:15 PM PDT I read the human effigy says it reverses hallowing but also weakens links to other worlds. Does that mean that in order to summon phantoms and get invaded I must be hallowed? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 May 2020 09:10 PM PDT Dark souls 2 was my first souls game, got it about 5 years ago, played it off and on and since then have beaten it and everyone other soulsborne game, along the the way with them becoming some of my all time favorite games. However with all the bosses I've beaten and few challenge runs I'd done, I was never able to beat the Ancient Dragon and in turn Vendrick without the last giant soul. Many, many hours across multiple characters went into trying to beat them over the course of those 5 years. Recently I realized I hadn't played ds2 in a while and re-purchased it on my laptop to take it to college, and have been having a blast re-playing it. I get to the two bosses I was dreading, and I beat the dragon in 3 tries and then Vendrick in 2 right after. All in all, it's clearly because I gave From more money, dark souls is pay to win. Posted: 30 May 2020 12:36 AM PDT So I've never played online , finally got excited enough to try it out- especially because I really liked my character. I mean, I just beat the Fume Knight, I was handling PVE pretty well, and wanted to slay some invaders and help people. Helping people was fun, we dealt with the iron keep and brumes tower, I felt honored to slay through those alonne knights with my big ass sword. So I finally did some invasions at the bell tower, first few went great. Then I keep running into this dude Pedro something something.... And he/she just keeps one shotting me with some magic. So I finally figure out how to roll past it, and even get a few hits in, but never bested them. So PVP is a totally different game. Partly , honestly, getting used to the lag, when it seems like they can never hit me- yet they do. Also, some people's builds are just better. And they play better. I was coming off a Dark Souls high and now I'm humbled. Oh well. Practice makes perfect! [link] [comments] |
Is there a way to dupe human effigies on SOTFS PC? Posted: 30 May 2020 10:12 AM PDT Hello all. I am wanting to do a co op run with my friend and not have to worry about running out of effigies, especially since they are so scarce early game. I have done a bit of searching but cant seem to find any reference of a dupe glitch. Does anyone here know of a method to dupe them? Thanks [link] [comments] |
How do I get the item above McDuff’s workshop? Posted: 30 May 2020 09:35 AM PDT Every time I'm by the bonfire in front of McDuffs I see this item on the stone rampart above his workshop. How do I get it!?!? I totally missed it on my last playthrough, but I won't miss it this time! Please give me some direction! Edit: Got it! Thanks for the help! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 May 2020 08:55 AM PDT Hey does anyone know if there's an online connectivity mod for ds2 softs? It's my favorite out of the souls series because of the vast number of viable ways to build your character and the combat is pretty satisfying. The thing is, is soul memory is kind of annoying to deal with when playing with friends, so I was wondering if there's like a mod or some other way to connect with friends that are outside your soul memory range? “The first sin” Was making the frigid outskirts Posted: 29 May 2020 06:16 PM PDT So for those who are unaware the frigid outskirts is part of the dlc (Burnt ivory king) which overall i didn't really have a problem with until this bullshit area came up fuck whoever made this game design and thought this would be a good idea to put a blizzard in a area that is already cancer enough so you can barely see and then put these reindeer enemies that make it even worse. the reindeer wouldn't be so bad if they didn't worked how they did and was put in a barren wasteland of snow not to mention their broken hit boxes which makes it really hard to dodge and i'm pretty sure every blizzard that happens more spawn with the ones that have already spawned and really your only landmarks are the ruins scattered across the place oh and the ruins have dual wielding bitches which aren't that annoying but still why are they there? And finally if you're lucky enough to actually make it through and cross the bridge you would normally expect a bonfire after all that chaos nope you get a fucking boss which is literally just 2 fucking tigers that gank you. i've already have a problem with aava and now the game is making me fight two amazing game design if this area didn't have the the bullshit reindeer it wouldn't be as bad but no they had to put them here. dark souls is known to be hard but also fair in a way this area is just fucking bullshit EDIT: So i took a long break from ds2 got on like 20 mins ago took me 5 try's but i killed the boss and thanks for the people that helped damn it feels good to beat this boss. also debating on if i should get the Loyce GS is it worth it?
