I finally got out of giant's tomb, it feels so good Posted: 23 Apr 2020 01:53 AM PDT Holy shit i was stuck there for like a week, and after countless attempts i got back to firelink shrine. It feels so good, i can finally play the game in a normal way. I got a lot of large brave warrior souls there, so it was kinda worth it i guess. [link] [comments] |
Seriously though, fuck this game Posted: 22 Apr 2020 10:17 PM PDT Last playthrough I spent 3 hours grinding for a Balder Side Sword for an Int/Dex build. My current playthrough is a Str/Fth build and I got the BSS off the second Balder Knight I killed. Fuck my life. [link] [comments] |

Dark Souls Finally Clicked For Me Posted: 22 Apr 2020 06:57 PM PDT I was having a ton of trouble beating the Capra Demon but after many attempts and almost quitting the game at one point, I finally won. And ooh boy I get the whole thing about how rewarding this game is. And yes, I know it gets harder and harder but I honestly can't see myself quitting this game anymore. [link] [comments] |

This land is peaceful, its inhabitants kind. (Finishing Dark Souls for the first time) Posted: 22 Apr 2020 02:40 PM PDT Having finished Dark Souls Remastered and it being the first of my Soulsborne games I'd like to expand upon my experience with this game. I feel my initial purchase was an impulse, seeing Sekiro I thought I should give From Software's fabled franchise a chance and bought Dark Souls, I was disappointed. The world was so grey and unforgiving. A brutal landscape with demons and beasts around every corner. The feeling of fear of reemerging at the bonfire fueled rage and frustration. With the addition of the Capra Demon I wanted to quit, the game was unbearable. Yet, I continued because I didn't want my money to be wasted. And it did not. You see the idiom 'fear is to be conquered' is incorrect. Fear should be understood and challenged. My shift in mindset began at the Depths. Running through the maze, instead of worrying every second, I had a relaxed approach, as if I were in an enthralling adventure battling beasts. And this immersed me so well, so much so the Gaping Dragon became my beacon to continue. See this world is not unforgiving, it's fair. Just like if I were to go into the wilderness unprepared, disaster would follow. The world is dying and stories are morbid with tales of misfortune. Seeing the Crestfallen Warrior leave the shrine to only hollow in New Londo was gut-wrenching. Losing is a part of life, don't let it define it. That's how you become hollow. Each and every map, all the little annoyances this game threw at me from the ambushes at Blighttown to the infested Tombs of the Giants, became a milestone to overcome. As the game ends, I began revisiting all my favorite NPCs as a farewell. My covenant as a 'Forest Hunter' and that coming to an end was saddening, defending the garden conjured emotions of brotherhood and camaraderie and I'd miss it very much. Ash Lake was the only place I had not visited but I have no regrets because this was my journey and adventure without any guides as I could do with, but for me, please do search for it. The wonders of the world were mesmerizing and new to me. The story occurs due to Gwyn's act of elongating the age of Fire. And while some may say it was wrong, remember that it was through his sacrifice so many incredible people were able to participate in the journey of Dark Souls. As the game had reached its climax and a staircase with the ghosts of black knights, I knew this goodbye would be a sad one. I decided that I would not parry Gwyn. I will face him as he faces me, man against king, new against old and sword against sword. Dodges and effective strikes. It was a great battle and because I use very little armor to ensure best mobility, it was almost like a ballad of blades between us. I got greedy, however, and started bombarding strikes which left me vulnerable and then his combo began. I was one-shot, and so was he. Us two, both in close quarter, like almost in movies, strike unanimously. But I stand. Gwyn falls. I walk to the flame and I think of this world of bizzare construction with unholy and greedy lords to the silent firekeepers. A land of dragons and demons and skeletons and undead. A land with scaling mountains and falling Colosseum's and Ash Lakes and grand libraries for dragons. I learnt that no matter how intimidating, I should face challenges and I learnt to appreciate the setbacks in the journey for sometimes they become the most beautiful memories. But most of all, I learnt that this land is peaceful, its inhabitants kind. [link] [comments] |

Need help with my build and some basic stuff. (First time player) Posted: 23 Apr 2020 01:47 AM PDT I have a few questions .So I already played and platinumed Bloodborne. In Bloodborne there was no equip load and all. So I am doing a strength build. I'm in lower undead burg. Started out with Bandit class. Still using bandit set. Ima using the battle axe +3. So here's my stats. LVL:25 VIT:16 ATT:8 END:20 STR:24 DEX:10 RES:11 INT:8 FAI:10. I am using the spider shield and battle axe. Which are the best strength weapons in the game and which is the best Armor and weapon combo so that I don't fat roll. I and using the ring of favour and protection and a ring which gives a slight boost in hp that I chose at the start of the game as the gift. So how do you use magic in this game. I don't know anything about attunement and intelligence and poise, what do they mean ? Which are the best mid game strength weapons? Keep in mind All this is for PvE and I am planning on doing a 100% run . Should I use the humanity consumable items and should I kindle every bonfire I see? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Apr 2020 12:18 AM PDT So this is my first run on Dark Souls and I want to beat O and S without summoning Solaire. I feel that I am somewhat well equipped for the fight as I have the black knight sword and the grass crest shield. I just wanted to know if going in light and fastroll is a better strat than tanking with Havel's armour. [link] [comments] |
