Posted: 20 Mar 2020 05:50 AM PDT This game was fun. I prefer Dark Souls One but I did enjoy playing this one. Sometimes in this game it felt that everything was so sloppily put together, especially the final fights with stupid fucking Throne Watcher and Throne Defender then Nashandra right after. This game definitely has its moments where I want to smash my controller, but this game is good and you could say I enjoyed it overall. NOW OFF TO THE DLC'S [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Mar 2020 09:08 AM PDT "Man, The Last Giant was pretty pathetic for a first boss.." Pursuer drops down into his arena "Ohhhh- I get golf swinged -FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" .. This game isn't too bad so far. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Mar 2020 09:27 AM PDT Dark Souls 1: I am the chosen undead, It is prophesized that I will gain the strongest souls and overpower the gods themselves! Dark Souls 2: Yo i just want to die. Lemme break this curse [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Mar 2020 02:12 PM PDT The run up to Smelter Demon is so annoying, Ive been trying for over an hour to get through the fog gate and I've only made it once....The one time I made I had 2 Estus so you can probably imagine how my fight turned out. Ive tried again for around 30 minutes and I can't get back through the gate lol, any tips? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Mar 2020 12:14 PM PDT I never thought to do them the first three characters I used, but finally got around to them with a Pyromancer build with a Fire Bastard Sword and a Lightning Mastodon Greatsword (for enemies more resistant to fire). Decided to do them before I got to Velstadt since I was around SL 110 and thought "why not?" Note: I did not do the optional bosses for the DLCs, though I'm starting to work on getting to Alonne now that I'm done base game. Started with Sunken King and promptly got whooped until I found out how to deal with those Ghost Soldiers. Elana was fine since I killed her before she summoned Velstadt, but GOD DAMN SINH. That dragon kicked my ass for at least three days before I put him to sleep. Then I went for Iron King and had a much better time. Fume Knight is definitely one of my favorite fights in this game. He might've made me eat dirt many, many times, but it didn't feel unfair or bullshit. Had a difficult, but much more fun time with it. Lastly was Ivory King. Not much excitement in beating Aava and clearing the city and getting the Loyce Knights, but the final battle was AWESOME. After getting through the Burnt Loyce Knights and getting to the Ivory King himself, I ended up running out of Estus and barely clenched our a victory against him. Probably my favorite out of them tbh. Anyway, on another note, any tips for Iron Passage, Horsefuck Valley, and Graverobbers? I've heard horror stories and I'm not sure what to do with them [link] [comments] |

Posted: 20 Mar 2020 02:07 PM PDT HOW?! The run up to the boss is insane. It may even be harder than the actual boss fight. But the actual boss is hard asf too! This area is straight from hell. If anyone could give me some tips or help me out that would be appreciated. I'm on sotfs ps4 with 3 mil sm. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Mar 2020 01:54 PM PDT What was your favorite Build you've every ran in DS2? I'll kick things off with a strength hexer. 72 dark orbs and a dark darkcrypt blacksword. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Mar 2020 01:46 PM PDT How. From beating them to actually getting to them in the first place, this boss seems like a threeway crossfire of unfair bullfuckery, farthest I've gotten is killing Yahim each time on his dumb balcony and then i choke up immediately when Alessia jumps up to see me. It also doesn't help that most of the time when I'm done with Yahim, I'm left at 1 health so that the drop to the arena kills me, and I only get to the boss fight with 1 Estus flask, because of the absolute ONSLAUGHT of what i think is flamberge knights, all ganking me and cornering me, and even if I DO survive all of that, I just can't find a single opening against Alessia and Ricce, or i get pummeled trying to! I don't even have a chance to learn the fight because of how long it takes me to get back there, how am i supposed to do this!??!?! [link] [comments] |
Something I truly can't stand about this game Posted: 20 Mar 2020 01:05 PM PDT Now I'm talking about DS2 the vanilla game, not SOFS, because in SOFS they took active steps to fix this issue. I HATE that this game forces you to play through 95% of new game with shitty equipment. You can't get any good gear until the end, and that has always made my NG playthroughs feel torturous and miserable. No dull ember until iron keep? Eat a dick. No staff of wisdom or crystal magic weapon until dragon shrine? That's literally the FINAL area of the game, eat a dick dark souls. I am doing an int run and have been counting on the finding staff of wisdom when I hit tseldora. Now here I am with my dick in my hands realizing that this is not SOFS and of course why would they give you access to any remotely decent equipment prior to you completing 99% of the game? The point is, what is the point of being OP if you don't have any bosses left to beat [link] [comments] |
Can anyone here help me with Elana? Posted: 20 Mar 2020 12:36 PM PDT My sm is 19.5 mil Already tried on the summon subreddit no luck there. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Mar 2020 11:40 AM PDT One of the worst mistakes of my life was trying to play ds2 on a PC, with the touchpad and a glitchy w key. Bought it for my ps4 several years later and boy was this game easier than I thought it was. I got halfway through the game on that pc btw. Prouder of that than any other Soulsborne achievement I've gotten. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Mar 2020 11:36 AM PDT Why is there such a strict posting limit on the sub? I wanna help people or have a conversation on a thread but I always have to wait like 8 minutes for each message after posting like, twice Why so harsh? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Mar 2020 11:24 AM PDT Spoiler-tagged for discussions of the third game It's probably a case like the Warden from Dragon Age, where a previous game's player character is too Big and Personal for the devs to make any explicit or detailed reference to, but it's still something I've been wondering about Think about it, the BotC has Vendrick's Blessing and so is immune from hollowing, and the Herald as a child of dragons and something like a Fire Keeper seems unaffected by the curse as well. Assuming you don't take the Throne of Want and link the fire, where would they go, and why would they be absent from III? The lore around Wolnir in III makes me feel like they were trying for some vague reference to the Lost Crowns? Like "grinding the other lords' crowns to dust to form his own" seems like an allusion to the crowns gathered by the BotC, but the DSII crowns come from very disparate lands with no apparent geographic connection to each other or to Carthus, whose existence we had no hint of at that point. But maybe the "transitory lands" aspect of DSIII lore makes it more plausible. Is it possible Wolnir defeated the BotC to take the crowns, and later was able to fall to the Abyss since he wasn't the recipient of the Blessing? If that's the case it would be a pretty cruel shaggy-dog story, considering everything we go through to get that Blessing in this game As for the Herald, there's a clear naming parallel between Ocelotte and Shanalotte, on top of both them being verbatim "child[ren] of dragons." I'm disinclined to think that Shanalotte became Queen of Lothric, if only because she never seemed interested in ruling, only in guiding the next Monarch and preventing Nashandra from claiming the Throne of Want. But is it possible Ocelotte was born of a similar line of research to what created Shanalotte, or at least a "paledrake" counterpart to Aldia's research which had focused on the more normative Ancient Dragon that the replica in the Shrine was based on? They invite us to make a connection between Ocelotte and Shanalotte, which is par the course for how these games tell story and deliver lore, but give no indication of what this connection might be I'm just spit-balling here though; what are some of your red-string-room theories on what happened with these characters? Letting my salt show here for a second, I really wish they hadn't been so deathly allergic to DSII references in III so we'd have more to go on lol [link] [comments] |
Posted: 19 Mar 2020 03:45 PM PDT I recently decided to download Scholar of the First Sin on my xbox for the second time ever. I'm playing through, solo this time, and I'm finding so many things I never did when I played the first time. The world of Dark Souls 2 is so vast it blows my mind. I love this game, man. Is there a mod for DS2 that makes you invincible mid roll just like ds1? Posted: 20 Mar 2020 10:31 AM PDT everytime i see my health bar diminish mid roll i want to punch the screen as hard as i can, because not having invincibility during the entire roll but instead making its duration relative to agility (in my opinion, i am open to other opinions) just makes the game more grind and luck focused than skill based and makes the experience feel overall cheap. To all people who are gonna spam ''git gud'' in the comments, i am actually good at dark souls 1 and 3(and all i want is to finish all dark souls games) so spare me your useless comments and leave some space for more meaningful comments [link] [comments] |
Can anyone help me with smelter demon Posted: 20 Mar 2020 09:50 AM PDT |
Posted: 19 Mar 2020 08:07 PM PDT So, I was heading over in Forest of fallen Giants. Opened the door and was opening the wooden chest to get the ring of restoration when I was rudely reminded that wooden chest break by a hollow soldier ramming his bastard sword right up my ass. Yeah, so I guess ring of restoration is ng+ for me. [link] [comments] |
Starting the game soon, but what class do I want? Posted: 20 Mar 2020 09:14 AM PDT Hey guys, So recently I finished Bloodborne, and I've been wanting a new game to play... think I've pretty much decided to give Dark Souls 2 (Scholar) a try, since I've owned it on PS4 for, well, a while now, but never actually opened it (Still in the wrapper, lol). I have some experience with Souls games, as mentioned I've finished Bloodborne (Platinum too), I also beat Demon's Souls back in the day (Also platinum), played Dark Souls but couldn't move on past Anor Londo (That just seemed to be my stopping point for some reason), and also recently played and finished Nioh (I know it's not a Fromsoft game, but it's soulslike, so meh). So yeah, I can't imagine myself being 100% lost jumping into the game and picking a class. The thing is, I've been watching some videos, and currently watching Fightincowboy play through the game via his Let's Play/Walkthrough series. He picked a spellcaster and is using hexes... now, normally in these games I like to go with a light melee build, relying on parries and backstabs, but using hexes actually looks sort of fun, and I'm also considering that too. From what I understand, the game still uses iframes for dodging, but they're implemented via a stat, which seems a little odd if I'm being honest, and I'm hoping someone will be able to explain that too. Looking at the classes, I think I'd probably be starting off as a Knight or Cleric, simply for the stat distributions of both allowing me to maybe move towards a hybrid build, and their starting equipment etc. seems pretty beneficial, but then again I'm also wondering if I should just go straight up Sorcerer, despite having low melee stats to begin with, it seems pretty "easy" to get to some stronger weapons (The fire sword in the forest of giants for example)... I don't know, I just seem to put way too much thought into what sort of class I want to play and what my stat distribution will be whenever it comes to games like this, especially the Fromsoft games that don't give you the option to respec, and I'm not really a fan of creating multiple characters, I'd rather just have one where I've worked everything out beforehand in terms of builds, stats and playstyle. So yeah, TL;DR... I'm wanting to start the game soon, but can't decide on what class I want to pick, since watching gameplay has thrown me off and has me questioning whether I want to change my playstyle to a caster or not (Something I very rarely play in games, although in Demon's Souls and Dark Souls I had fun messing with them in PvP and such), and I do apologise for rambling, this post is probably so much longer than it needed to be. Cheers for any help/info/opinions/recommendations received! [link] [comments] |

Powerstancing options on dex/int run Posted: 20 Mar 2020 08:51 AM PDT So far I am very much enjoying this. Running dual rapiers, powerstancing them quite a bit and man I was not prepared for the dopeness that is powerstance. It's making me hate this game less! That L2 literally took out half the covetous demon's health. I've been focusing alot on levelling. I'm around level 80 and I've only fought a few bosses. Made it to iron keep for the dull ember. For magic I'm using the witchtree branch which I infused. So, I'm guessing since I'm levelling both dex and int that it is NOT a good idea to infuse my physical weapons with magic? Only my staves maybe? What gear should I be on the lookout for? Honestly I've been told that magic is the way to go in this game but I'm pretty underwhelmed by the damage spells (I can hit higher AR with my rapiers than i can with soul spear). Really now that I'm into it, I'm only seeing magic as a means of spamming mooks and buffing. Yearn helped me with skeleton lords, that's about it. What other weapons are good to powerstance with rapiers? I was thinking of trying Ricard's or maybe the blacksteel katana [link] [comments] |
