To the dude who knuckle fought me on the Bridge Bonfire

    Posted: 24 Feb 2020 11:32 PM PST

Thank you for the fun !

I'm also using the knuckle stance to pvp, so it was a gorgeous boxing match ! Fair violence, punctuated by "hadukens"

When I aggro a mob, you stand back to maintain a fair fight.

At some point I punched you down the broken part of the bridge ! You were on a small platform. I laughted at you with emote, while you keep dodging my hadukens.

So I dived down on you. You were low hp and the platform was too small for you to get away for healing. I got you...

Finally I made a error. Double pressed R2. I saw myself kick jumping above you, straight into the lava

Not even mad, I loved this fight

I actually got more scared of a jump scare in this game then I was expecting.

So I've played this game before. I've fought The Duke's Dear Freya before. I've beaten her before, so I wasn't too worried.

Until I knocked her head off and she was still moving and attacking me with her headless body. I nearly had a heart attack!

Then I realized she actually had 2 heads. And after I finished her off I found her knocked off head just laying in the cavern. You'd think that would be a part of the fight I remember!

Returning to Drangliec after a few years...interesting thing about rarely dying and not losing souls.

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 09:10 AM PST

This time through my memory was pretty good. Beat Lost Sinner and Freja, died twice and both times recovered. So after going through all three routes fully (at least as far as I can) except the hole and cooping about 10 bosses. This is the first time I've gotten to this point without enough souls to open the Shrine. I'm at 800k right now. Been cooping Freja some this morning to try and get more souls. This is prob my 10th playthrough and I've never had to drop down the hole before hitting that 1 million soul mark. I hate that area and usually save it for last. Interesting how getting (sorta) gud, is actually going to change my route. I did just use a bonfire ascetic at Lost Sinner so I'm going to see where I'm at souls wise if I can beat her again.

Can someone explain the shrine of winters SM mechanic to me???

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 02:22 PM PST

Let me know if this is correct: Normally, light all 4 primal bonfires, and it will open. That I understand, how ever I dont get the 1-2 mill souls part, as my soul mem was WAY above that whean I went in NG+, but it wont let me in. A older vid I found says that that doesn't evan work? And that you actually just need to light 2 primal bonfires max??? Can someone explain?

Thank you Invader also thank you for trying blue.

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 06:30 AM PST

After coming back to Dark souls 2 because of the return to drangleic event I thought I'd try playing the game a bit differently, reading all of the posts on here regarding everyones stories got me to play this playthrough differently, originally completing the game on the vanilla version I did this mostly offline as I was sick of getting ganked on my way to bosses, I suck at PVP and even the NPC invaders give me a good doing over from time to time.

Today I was invaded for the first time during RtD at Heides, An invader called "YOOOOO" invaded me and I instantly thought I was doomed for another walk back from the bonfire, we greeted each other, he dropped me three human effigys and then kindly let me kill a Heide Knight which tried to get in on some of the action.

We then had a small but uneventful battle where I took a sliver of his health and he took most of mines, eventually my prayers were answered by a blue sentinel called "Swamp", cheers were had and gestures were made as I grew confident that my new found friend would vanquish my arch nemesis the invader.. there battle began but YOOOOO cast some sort of fire spell which created a massive pillar of fire in front of him near wiping out my faithful blue friend in one foul swoop, after a small battle my blue friend gave up the fight and stood still, he was greeted with a devastating back stab which sadly ended his time in my world.

From seeing my short lived friend dispatched I thought my time was over and my days were numbered.. but to my surprise my invader friend shuffled away and stood next to a cliff whilst I watched him wondering what devastation he would cause me or that perhaps this was a trap so he could choke slam me over the cliff laughing as he did it, I tentatively walked over to him and smashed him in the back with my Craftmans Hammer, he clung onto the edge barely and I knew my time was up.. I took a tiny piece of his health... he got up but then walked over the edge again as close as possible without falling in himself, it was then I striked and finally I pushed him over to end his reign over my world.. I was king again until the next battle.

To both my invader and my saviour thank you for the wonderful memory of my first non-ganky battle in my return to drangleic.

    Mistakes were made

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 02:02 PM PST

Burned one of those things that turn all enemies around the bonfire worse, thinking I could farm some souls, but I noticed the boss fog was back, so I thought I'd fight him again, big mistake lol. Its the rotten boss, if anyone wants to try and help, my first play through btw

    A most shameful moment

    Posted: 24 Feb 2020 04:55 PM PST

Waited several minutes with my summon sign out in front of Old Iron King's fog gate.

    Finally got summoned.

    Bow to the other player.

    He enters. I follow.

I get off one Lightning Spear real quick and go to dodge the slowly wound up slam.

    I don't dodge it.

And am knocked into the hardest boss in the game, that little hole in the platform.

Total time in the other player's world? Maybe fifteen seconds, tops.

If you're on here, know that I'm so sorry. I hope you at least got a laugh out of it because damned if I'm not laughing at myself after that shameful display.

Previously posted about burning Bonfire Ascetic at Lost Sinner...getting butt handed to me. Anyone want to help? I’m on PC-KSnizzo

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 02:53 PM PST

Yea, had a Sunbro come in but we got invaded by some jack leg named Whale whilst we were fighting the baddies in the water and he bested us. Luet and the chicka have thus far been no help. Sinner and her little Pyro punks have killed me 5 times now.

Is straight magic a good pve build? Been so long since I've played.

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 08:35 AM PST

I know hexes are good. I've over played them back in the day. I'm curious if an int build with maybe good strength for certain weapons is a good pve build? What about faith?

    Darklurker is hard :(

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 02:09 PM PST

i can not beat the darklurker after trying about 4 times, each time i've got her down to about 30-40% health but then i start losing track of the second one and die. i'm using sorceries to kill her cause she seems to be weaker to magic. if anyone has any tips on dealing with the 2 of them or just how to fight her in general, i could use some please. :)

    Transitioning to DS3

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 02:07 PM PST

    Hi guys,

today marks the day that i beat dark souls 2 for the first time!

Dark Souls 3 is lurking in my steam library and i'm going for a spin, but how is the sorcery/miracle system?

for the main game i was a 50 INT/30 FTH kind of caster build which i changed for the DLC's because they are relentless for casters. i was wondering if i could try ds3 with a sorcery/miracle build, how does the magic system of ds3 compare to ds2?

I'm about to start ng+. I didn't want to until I beat every boss but the afflicted gank squad is trash and is op and the one time I made it to lud and Zallen I died near the end and had to run back and out of 32 attempts didn't make it back once. Also blueberry is pos so yeah but maybe I can do him

Any thoughts? I mostly care about PVE, but I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions to make this build more PVP competitive.

What should I do before playing Crown of the Ivory King?

    Posted: 25 Feb 2020 09:28 AM PST

I have beaten the main game and two DLCs. I have not traded a single boss soul. My current my weapon is a Bandit Axe+ 10 and Halves Set +5 . What can I do to have some fun before finishing the game ? I am kind of missing a long sword lol or is there another set that is tough like Halves but looks better?
