Who is the guy by the bonfire?

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 02:26 PM PST

This guy is always at the bonfire throughout the game, he just sits there and mocks everything you do and acts like your task is impossible and everything you do right is just luck. He's so cynical, he doesn't hate you he just thinks you should give up and there no real reason why. I think this guy represents ourselves and everyone who gives up. This guy is clearly a failed warrior because he is in armour and is a challenge to take on in combat. In my opinion he is one of the most important characters in the game. He gives our quest a purpose and a drive to complete only to prove him wrong. And as we go on throguh the game. We kill him. This shows we have come too far to stop now, it shows we are ready for anything and nothing is holding us back anymore. (Please let me know what you guys think this character really interests me, I'm not veteran I've only got 150 hours in the game so if I've got anything wrong let me know. Also there's a character like this in Dark souls 3 which is interesting).

Dark souls makes me feel accomplished

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 01:08 PM PST

My December has been pretty rough so far, dark souls and classical piano are the only two things that have made me feel happy enough to keep enduring school.

I bought it during the Halloween sale this year, but I've already clocked 146 hours in it, and I enjoyed every single hour of it.

I just finished a 2 hour session and the only thing I can think about is what I accomplished.

I can't thank hidetaka miyazaki and fromsoft enough for this absolute masterpiec

I think it would be a very intelligent detail for Sunlight Maggots to lure Warriors of Sunlight.

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 05:48 PM PST

Think about it. Rats feast upon humans and as a result humanity can be pillaged from them, under the same logic. And, the Firstborn was erased from recorded history after he committed treason and an effective way of obscuring him would be to pick off his followers one by one.

    Ornstein and Smough and Hal

    Posted: 17 Dec 2019 12:37 AM PST

Thought I'd post here as I'm a fucking casul and have been struggling with this pair for far too long - Last night after my usual crap runs and been killed by invaders I summoned a player by the name of "Hal" who helped me take down Ornstein and Smough and finally progress

Hal I'm not sure if you'll ever see this buddy but I wanted to thank you. You're a goddamn warrior and my hero

    THANK YOU HAL

    Two Curses

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 11:40 AM PST

Hi everyone. I've been playing DS1 for a while now and I've watched a lot of lore videos about it.

And yet, there is a questions that keeps bugging me...

As far as I know there are two curses the player csn suffer in DS1. The first one is the curse of tje undead, forever bound to respawn at a bonfire after dying until you hollow. The other is the fuckery inflicted by the basilisks.

    Are they related? Why?

As far as I know the curse of the Undead forces (or leads) humans to fuel the bonfires with humanity, thus extending the age of fire a little bit.

The other curse kills you, horribly. But it remains with you after respawning. And I think it prevents you from getting humanity (the counter gets blocked at least, not sure if it actually prevents humanity usage).

It looks like a counter to the undead curse.

But there is more. I only know of 2 creatures capable of cursing. The Basilisks and Seath. And to top it of basilisk seem yo be always near a dragon (gaping dragon in the depths and everlasting dragon in ash lake). More like they are there to prevent you from reaching them...

Is that curse related to dragons? Why can Seath cause it? Is it related to the undead curse?

Answers... please... I beg of you..

Edit: Oh, I forgot to mention the sage who can cure it in New Londo... is it related to the Abyss?

Edit 2: I FORGOT THE CLAMS! The clams filled with human skulls. They only appear near the everlasting dragon and Seath. And they drop the only item that cures the curse! So they are related to the curse AND dragons... but they are NOT near the gaping dragon... this keeps getting worse the more I think of it...

OH! And the New Londo sage uses HUMANITY in order to cure you! As if telling you that once you are cursed your priority is to use humanity to get cured instead of using it in bonfires!

Hi guys, I make dnb and this tune will be released in the future once I have fully finished it. For now here is a preview https://soundcloud.com/jack-evasion-evo/the-abyss/s-kcaYG

I was wondering if anyone had ideas for a video? Considered recorded gameplay footage. I don't want to interfere with any copyright, even though the tune will likely make me a fiver or so hahah.

The Bed of chaos is the worst boss ever

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 05:11 PM PST

So basically Im on my first playthrough of dark souls remastered, never played the original before, and I am at the bed of chaos, and I understand now why people say that it is the worst boss of the series, the fact that you die because you get pushed of the map is horrible, but at least I can say that Im done with this boss for the rest of the playthrough

    That Sunbro Life

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 09:39 AM PST

I've already completed 100% of the game earning every possible achievement. I've spent hundreds of hours in Lordran and I've explored every nook and cranny of the game. So, why did I start up a new character all over again with nothing more to accomplish? To praise the sun, of course! Even after "completing" the game, I still find myself drawn to its world, its lore and to the pace of its combat. I've made it my mission to place my sign wherever I can to help other players as I take my time and slowly progress through the game. I'm not invading others this time around. I find my solace in hearing the ringing of the bells and watching as another player takes down a boss that's been giving them trouble. I've been hanging out in Oolacile lately helping people take down Artorias and Manus and loving every second of it. I'll eventually move on to other locales, but I'm in no hurry to get there. I'm just enjoying myself and helping others not go hollow.

Is there a subreddit where I can find a player to help me beat a boss ?

    Posted: 17 Dec 2019 01:07 AM PST

Title, I'm on PS4 and have been using both r/SummonSign and r/DarkSoulsHelp to no avail, in game summons have unfortunately not been very helpful either, any other subreddit or discord where I can find help ?

I DID IT!! i killed Bell Gargoyle using the STRAIGH SWORD HILT no sum, no buffs, no bombs, nothing but the weapon

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 02:01 PM PST

Is it just me or are souls games one of the best optimized games out there?

    Posted: 16 Dec 2019 10:36 AM PST

I played demon souls back in the day and few days ago decided to play the other ones. I check the system requirements for DS Remastered and saw I couldn't run in on my potato pc, but decided to give it a try anyways. Lo and behold, the game runs on 60fps on medium-high settings without any frame drops. I was very surprised to say the least. Usually when I see a game that I can barely run on paper and actually try it out it runs like shit, but souls games run so smoothly it's heavenly.

Dark Souls: Lightning in a bottle

    Posted: 17 Dec 2019 12:07 AM PST

We all have our stories. Wether this game cured your depression, rejuvenated your confidence, or simply provided an escape for a few hours, Dark Souls is one of those games that stays with you long after you've linked the first flame, or ascended to the Dark Lord.

It spawned two great (yes, DS2 is great) sequels, a spiritual successor in Bloodborne, and the refreshing GoTY winner Sekiro. The Souls series has even created their own gaming genre, with countless Souls-clones being created every year. That being said, nothing comes close to capturing the feeling of traversing Lordran for the first time. Amazement, confusion, anger, this game has made me feel more emotions than most people in my life.

With that out of the way, I was curious what moment in Dark Souls made you go "Oh yea, this game is a real gem." :)
