Dark souls is the best game ever!

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 08:18 PM PST

I've been playing dark souls since it was released in 2011. dark souls came out of the back alley of popularity but it got me hooked from the start and now I can't stop playing it. Dark souls has a great story, unique gameplay and pvp/co-op system and I've beaten the game at least 100 times over. Everyone was so hyped about Skyrim at the time but you actually need a lot of skill for dark souls. I've played over 1000 hours total throughout the series and it never gets old

    The giant blacksmith conspiracy.

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 04:26 AM PST

I thought of a small conspiracy about the giant blacksmith. In dark souls 1 he wields a giant hammer, but in dark souls 3 there is a giant blacksmith wielding a small cylindrical hammer that can be found in the giant blacksmiths room in dark souls 1 . And the giant blacksmith is a friend of gough. So my theory is that the giant in the undead settlement is actually the giant blacksmith since he also says "i help any time ", and he has the same voice. ( it cant be a coincidence ) The giant at the undead settlement also wields goughs greatbow. Which can be seen as proof of him being the giant blacksmith, since he was a close friend to gough. So my theory is that the giant blacksmith left anor londo taking goughs greatbow with him, and having a different giant take his place. Then the giant blacksmith went to the undead settlement where he helped undead by shooting the mad hollows with goughs greatbow.

This game should be renamed to Lisa, because it is tearing me apart. Help me not cry myself to sleep.

    A little introduction:

So I used to think I'm above average in video games. Never before I had played Dark Souls in my life for some reason and recently decided i should try it. Bought the remastered version and started playing. So at this point in the game, I think I'm complete trash.

Obviously my stubborn ass doesn't believe that it is because I suck, but the reason is that I don't know which abilities to level up in the early start of the game. Plus, I lost a shit ton of souls....

Any tips or little details to pay attention to?

The Epic final moments of my showdown with Nito..... sighhhhhh

Wow. Early game risks make great mid game rewards

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 09:20 PM PST

Just got DS remastered, and to celebrate I made a pyro with fire bombs to get great hammer (one of many firsts for me today), wrecked a bunch of mobs that used to give me lots of trouble, and opened up the blight town shortcut way before I thought I was ready. I'm used to doing dex builds with regular longsword, but the strength build with maces and heavy swords is STAGGERINGLY good. I was able to (with a few deaths) kill three early black nights. I wish I got the regular black night sword. I only got the great sword and halberd.

Just finished farming the Balder Side Sword... Here's the recap.

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 03:31 PM PST

I chose to farm the Undead Parish, despite it being less efficient. This is so I could go through as much of the game as possible with the weapon I wanted.

    It took:

-4 hours 34 minutes of continuous farming

    -10 humanity

-8k souls for the Homeward miracle

    I received:

-7 Longswords (hollows outside the church)

    -2 Hollow Soldier Shields

    -2 Hollow Warrior Helms

    -6 Hollow Soldier Helms

    -1 Hollow Soldier Armor

    -2 Hollow Soldier Waistcloths

    -3 Rapiers

    -2 Bucklers

    -8 Balder Helms

    -3 Balder Armors

    -4 Balder Gauntlets

    -3 Balder Leggings

    -4 Balder Shields

    -44 Titanite Shards

And finally: ONE Balder Side Sword.

It was painful, but I'm hoping it's worth it.

Dark Souls Remastered: Can I play with my friend in another country?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 08:21 PM PST

I want to buy this game for a friend so we can co-op together, I just don't want to waste my money for something that won't work.

I'm East Coast America, while he's all the way in Singapore. Is this do-able? Does it have Cross Country play like 3?

    Enjoying my first playthrough.

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 11:46 PM PST

I'm new to dark souls. I made a post couple days ago talking about how I got the game and you guys supported me with feedback. Well I've been really liking this game. Been playing with one of my buddies that's played all the dark souls and I could say he knows what he is talking about. Well anyways the game is awesome until I got to "Blight Town". Holy shit is that a pain in the ass to do. I might be really shit at the game or me being to cry baby but oh boy was that section hard. You can't see anything and you get "POISONED AND TOXIC". In the end of the day I've been enjoying my first playthough. I can gladly say this sub reddit is super kind and keeps me wanting more in dark souls. So thank you.

    I did it!!!

    Posted: 01 Dec 2019 03:57 AM PST

I have done at last! I've reached the end of Dark Souls for the first time and my hands are shaking.

After 52 hours of lighting Bonfires, drinking Estus, getting lost, chopping off tails, praising the sun, crying over onions, getting manipulated by snakes, and getting defeated but never giving up, I linked the First Flame. The payoff was this amazing feeling of gratitude, pride and satisfaction.

Miyazaki's masterpiece Dark Souls is a timeless classic and the only thing I don't understand is why I waited with playing it until now 10/10

How many souls can you possibly collect in a single playthrough?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 07:00 PM PST

Talking to my brother in law about DS1 and he is talking about taking on a crazy task of max leveling.

I found the calculator and know how many souls it requires. What I am wondering is if anyone knows how many souls are available in a ng, or ng+, ++ etc.

Assuming that you only kill anything once, and are looking for maximum souls in shortest time, you don't die or lose any souls. How many souls are available without grinding?

Anyone else randomly stop playing because the game is too good?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 11:37 PM PST

Idk what it is but after every other section of the game, I get an urge to simply stop playing. Not because the game is bad, actually just the opposite. It's my first playthrough and I just beat the four Kings, and am currently on one of many inter-boss breaks. Best way I can explain it is I want to sort of 'savor' the game and I don't want it to end, so I prolong the end of this amazing game by not playing.

Edit: want to mention I have all the time in the world rn because of Thanksgiving break, so it's not other things getting in the way.

    Kingseeker Frampt malicious intent?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 05:57 PM PST

After offering up all the souls to the lord vessel, Frampt gives a speech about the chosen undead being the successor of Gwyn and says he likes humans. If you talk to him again he says, "so long undead. I await thee". Considering we die at the end of the game he's lying in the fact that he gives us hope that we will return. Or has Frampt sided with Kaathe and he is one of the serpents who bow to you in the abyss ending?

Maybe he wanted us to kill Gwyn so that we could put out the flame for good so that the age of dark could come.

So are there any viable ways of knowing of and doing quests on a first play-through without aid from things like walkthroughs?

    Posted: 01 Dec 2019 02:34 AM PST

I've never been one to like spoilers as it really takes away from the sense of accomplishment that i get completing parts of the game on my own. That being said i feel like im missing out on huge parts of the game (as i did in ds3) by not spoiling it for myself. There has to be a way to do this correctly, right?

So for the Knights Honor achievement, do I need to have all the rare weapons at once. Because I accidentally sold a weapon to Frampt.

Bed of chaos? More like bed of bullshit.

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 09:58 PM PST

So I finally reached this boss (I was just looking for the sunlight maggot, lol) and I just want to say, this fight sucks. Seriously, it does a stupid amount of damage and it also does so much knock back! It doesn't help it loves to sweep me into its holes. Lots of people said royal rat authority was bad, this is just the worst fight possibly in the history of video games. It's the definition of rng.

Any recommendations for dual commentary videos?

    Posted: 30 Nov 2019 09:56 PM PST

Do you guys have any recommendations for videos with two or more people taking? I like things like that because it's fun seeing them bounce ideas off of each other and stuff like that.
