    Unpopular opinion

    Posted: 31 Dec 2019 06:58 AM PST

In my opinion Dark souls 2 lacked in many things like combat, many bad bosses(quantity over quality)etc... But it also had many great things like the pvp, the covenants and most important the atmosphere: You start the game and come to Majula(the best hub in my opinion) and It's a beautiful place which gives you a feeling of emtyness...Overall you just feel like an explorer of a forgotten world. Maybe I just feel that way because it was my first souls game...Who else feels like me?

    What's your favourite shield?

    Posted: 31 Dec 2019 11:34 AM PST

Don't see this asked as much as weapon/armour. And ds2 has a good selection of shields. Shields that can be powerstanced. Shields with amazing lore.

Ok mine is defenders shield. The way it looks is really all it is. Runner up. Blossom kite shield. It's just gorgeous and stamina Regen is always nice. And last but not least, the looking glass knight shield. Sexy ass. Nice concept. Love it. What's yours and why?

    About the knights of Farossa...

    Posted: 31 Dec 2019 07:32 AM PST

"Although the Lion Knights wore heavy armor, they were feared for their nimble two-handed swordplay."

Is it nimble two-handed sworplay two handed as in using both hands with a single sword, or nimble two-handed swordplay as in wielding 2 swords in each hand?

[PS4]Ugly dude with blessed crown took down the blue smelter demon last night, and it felt so good!

    Posted: 31 Dec 2019 04:00 AM PST

First of all - happy new year to all hollows and skeletons around the world!

Blue Smelter hit hard, and wow! - that run-up! After some tries I decided to put a stop to the enemies' respawn. Started with the first mob-chamber, but then went for the fireball-short cuts instead; permanently removed the mobs so I just had to worry about fireballs. In the last chamber I just ran for it. Not sure I'd manage without the Aged Feather!

The actual bossfight wasn't that bad, after all. Tried to cling to its left side, and used a +5 Crypt Blacksword.

I want to thank the sunbro who helped out a few times prior to victory, sorry I failed in those tries. If you see this then thank you for your patience! Though, happy about doing it solo in the end.

Later that evening both Nashandra and Aldia were slain. Best part - the soothing vocals in the beautiful SOTFS end credits!

Hi, I'm playing with swordsman, I don't know what to do on Lost Bastille, I already broke the wall with the barrels, rested on the bonfire and found the blacksmith, but I don't know what to do anymore can somebody help me?

I can't connect with my friend (Darks Souls 2, not scholar edition)

    Posted: 31 Dec 2019 08:21 AM PST

As the title says, we are unable to see the invocation mark of the other. We've started the game and we just got the little soapstone. We're not part of the CoC, we have a similar soul memory, we use the ring to facilitate the process, we don't have the effect of the effigy and we're both human. Are the servers down? I see messages written by other players, so I assume not.

I don't think either of us are banned, the number of deaths in the majula is the same for both of us.

Oh the Horror! A Fume Knight Battle

    Posted: 31 Dec 2019 01:47 PM PST

I was so close into beating the Fume Knight, after my 15 tries, I got him down to a sliver of HP until : *Please Reconnect your Xbox Controller* and I got K-Oed. I literally Force Quit out of my Dark Souls. The Rage I literally had.

The Dingy Set Phantom is not spawning

    Posted: 31 Dec 2019 09:38 AM PST

So I used a Bonfire Ascetic on the Bonfire near the Royal Rat Vanguard, but the Black Phantom that is supposed to drop the Dingy Set is not showing up. The Items on the way down including the Token of Spite in the wooden Chest all the way down in the Gutter appeared again, but not the NG+ Phantoms. That doesn't make sense.

Also, why do the additional Enemies in Boss Fights appear (e.g. Flexile Sentry or Lost Sinner), but not these ones?

    SotFS btw

The story of my restriction run

    Posted: 31 Dec 2019 06:00 AM PST

    Background

Sometime in early 2016, a friend introduced me to Dark Souls 2. I was not familiar with this genre and series of games. I never played something similar before and I was curious, as there was much anticipation for the third installment in the series at the time. My friend taught me the basic principles of the game. Soon after he left, I started playing on my own, trying to understand by myself what the game is.

I will always remember my first hours of the game. I had a very hard time learning how to play it. It was hard for me to understand one basic principle. Every input counts. I used to play Skyrim, and there I would click many times, even though I only wanted to attack once. So I was always clicking more than was necessary. The area where I learned how to play the game is the Crestfallen's Retreat bonfire area. I was constantly getting beaten up by hollow infantries, until I finally learned how to do an action and when to do an action. Very basic things, but very important to learn if you want to play this sort of game.

I played using the deprived class, as my friend said that he read that it is a very good one. I thought I would be a Strength based character, but I ended up leveling up both Strength and Dexterity. I mostly used the Ultra Great Sword, the Twinblade, the Red Iron Twinblade and, occasionally (Fume Knight), the Battle Axe. I played up until Sir Alonne. I had just beaten up the Blue Smelter Demon and Fume Knight and I was completely tired of the game and uninterested in trying to learn a new boss that seemed to be just as hard as the last two. I didn't even get to Eleum Loyce. I simply uninstalled when I saw the way Alonne moved.

    Interest rekindled

This summer I reinstalled the game. I couldn't accept not finishing it. I thought that I would play as a Dexterity build, as another Strength build would be boring. I thought that having some experience with the game would help me and make the game easier for me. I was wrong. I was just as bad as the first time I had played the game. I had to relearn in the exact same area the same things, but this time, it went a bit better.

    Restrictions

Most of these restrictions were present in my first playthrough, but for different reasons, such as not knowing what something was good for or simple hoarder behaviour. There were lots of things that I had missed then, such as not knowing where to go after I finished certain areas or not knowing about certain weapons, armour or bonfires, but I did not want to consult the wiki, as that would spoil the experience of figuring it out yourself.

    • No AGL leveling
      • This must be the hardest restriction of this list.
      • In my first playthrough, I didn't know what ADP or ATN did. I only read their description and later found out, when reading the wiki for all stats. I ended up not leveling as I thought I could handle the game as well as before without those two. It would have been easier to level them up then, but I didn't know how hard that would make things for me.
      • In my current playthrough, it is a conscious decision. I knew how hard it would make things be, but I still wanted to triumph, despite the particularly difficult conditions.
    • No INT, FTH or ATN
      • I wanted a full melee playthrough.
        • I ended up using pyromancy in beating the Darklurker and throwing fireballs instead of using projectiles to destroy certain environmental obstacles.
    • No Human Effigies
      • In my first playthrough, I didn't want to waste them.
      • In my current playthrough, I used some to beat the Darklurker and to get the king's armour, but didn't use any to restore my humanity except these specific conditions.
      • This restriction creates itself other restrictions.
    • No healing items except the Estus Flask
    • No spell uses Regenerating Herbs, no Poison Moss, no Green Blossom, no Homeward Bones, no throwing items, no Small Burrs, no Troches, no Common Fruit, no Oozes, no Resins, no Serums, no Balms, no Brightbugs, no Repair Powders, no Flame Butterflies, no Talismans (I used Lloyd's Talismans to see Mimics open their mouths), no Rusted Coins, no Alluring Skulls, no Bonfire Ascetics, no Spices, no Cracked Eye Orbs, no Seeds of a Tree of Giants.
    • No Soul Vessels
      • Except for when I learned that you get items from Carhillion of the Fold, Licia of Lindelt and Felkin the Outcast.
      • I used one to put all my points into INT, FTH and ATN and get the items and test all the spells I had.
      • I used one to revert to my original stats.
    • No Souls
    • No Boss Souls
      • I didn't use them either for acquiring souls or for getting their respective weapons, shields or spells.
    • No Great Swords
    • No Ultra Great Swords
      • I had used one in my first playthrough and didn't want to use the same weapons.
    • No Curved Swords, No Curved Great Swords, No Katanas
    • No Thrusting Swords
      • I really tried using them as I wanted a Dexterity build, but I didn't like them.
    • No Axes, No Great Axes
    • No Twinblades
      • I had used two in my first playthrough and didn't want to use the same weapons.
    • No Scythes, No Whips, No Claws, No Fists, No Bows, No Shields
    • No off-hand buff
      • Only a few days ago, I found out that the Handmaid's Ladle and the Work Hook have buffs.
      • I used the Watchdragon Parma for farming certain items.
    • Ring choice
      • Because I didn't use Human Effigies for regaining humanity, I had to use the Ring of Binding at all time.
      • I also used the Chloranthy Ring +1 for most of the game.
      • Only a few days ago, I realized I could have used one Human Effigy and then use the Ring of soul Protection or the Ring of Life protection, but I chose not to and to continue without using them.
    • No infusions
    • No summons
      • Because I didn't use Human Effigies for regaining humanity, I couldn't summon any NPC.
      • This also means that I wouldn't get their unique weapons or armours, if I had beaten bosses with them by my side.
    • No restoring of humanity at the Rise of the Dead temple
      • That would mean discarding all Human Effigies, and I didn't want to do that.
    • I had to buy any weapon, shield or armour that any NPC had to sell
      • I would check on the wiki to see if I could get those items by playing the game and if I could, I obtained them that way and not by buying them.
    • If I had lost a number of souls that was about a quarter of the number I needed to level up or more, I would have to farm them back
      • I would usually farm somewhere where I wanted to get a set from.

    What I used the most

I mostly used the Fire Longsword, the Heide Knight Sword, the Heide Spear and the Heide Lance. I mostly two-handed them throughout the game. I mostly used Vengarl's set, Havel's set, Velstadt's set and Agdayne's set for its thematic look.

    Equipment load and percentages

I wanted to use the armour with the biggest defense that I had, so I used to put as many points as I could in Vitality. At one point I think I had 70 VIT and all my other stats were either 20 or 6. I incorrectly remembered from my first playthrough that every 10% of equipment load would make me move slower. The intervals are actually different, and mostly spanning 20%. So I had 70 VIT with Royal Soldier's Ring +1 and the Third Dragon Ring on a Havel's set most of the time when I was fighting. The problem with that is that I was trying to maintain my equipment load under 40%, even though from 30% to 50% there was no difference in movement speed.

    The journey

I do not remember the exact number of times that I have tried to overcome a boss. These are just my estimates.

    • The Last Giant
      • 1-5 tries
    • The Pursuer
      • 30-40 tries
      • After beating the Pursuer, I went to the Lost Bastille, thinking that this would be my level appropriate area. I was wrong. The next bosses were very difficult to defeat, having to learn how to manage multiple enemies, but I succeeded nonetheless.
    • The Ruin Sentinels
      • 40-50 tries
    • The Belfry Gargoyles
      • 50-60 tries
      • After this fight, I got all the way to the Lost Sinner, but I remembered that there were other areas to clear before this one. The fights that followed were far easier, having beaten the previous bosses.
    • The Dragonrider
      • 1-5 tries
      • Probably shouldn't have slained him, as all the Heide Knights started walking around, making getting to the Old Dragonslayer more difficult to get to.
    • The Old Dragonslayer
      • 5-10 tries
    • The Flexile Sentry
      • 1-5 tries
    • The Lost Sinner
      • 30-40 tries
      • In my first playthrough, I didn't know that you could light up the boss area. My friend told me after.
      • In my current playthrough, I chose not to.
      • After this fight I thought that I had to go to the Shaded Woods.
    • Scorpioness Najka
      • 20-30 tries
      • I did not manage to cut any of her tails.
      • I didn't know you had to make her knock off the tree in the boss area to get the Flame Butterflies.
    • Royal Rat Authority
      • 10-20 tries
      • The invasion of Bowman Guthry was a bustling burst-fire brawl.
    • Prowling Magus and Congregation
      • First try.
      • The road to the next boss was difficult.
    • The Duke's Dear Freja
      • 30-40 tries
    • The Executioner's Chariot
      • 20-30 tries
    • The Skeleton Lords
      • First try
    • The Covetous Demon
      • First try
    • Mytha, the Baneful Queen
      • 40-50 tries
      • In my first playthrough, I didn't know that you could light up the windmill's blades, so I had to beat her with all the poison in her area. I had to constantly create occasions to heal during this fight. I found out later about the windmill when my friend told me about it.
      • In my current playthrough, I chose not to light them up because I wanted to do it again in those conditions.
      • I did not manage to cut her tail.
      • The next area was very hard to get through at first, as I didn't know their attack patterns. Almost all enemies were despawned up to the next bossfight.
    • The Smelter Demon
      • 40-50 tries
      • This was a very difficult fight.
      • After this fight there's a Crystal Lizard near some melting pots. I have accidentally pressed a pressure plate that tips a pot and killed the lizard and died afterwards, losing its drop.
    • The Old Iron King
      • 10-20 tries
    • The Royal Rat Vanguard
      • First try
    • The Rotten
      • 20-30 tries
      • I did manage to cut of its right arm.
    • The Darklurker
      • 35 tries
      • I lost a lot of times after it splitted.
      • I decided to use the Chaos Storm pyromancy despite wanting this to be a melee only run.
    • The Twin Dragonriders
      • 1-5 tries
    • The Looking Glass Knight
      • 10-20 tries
    • The Demon of song
      • 1-5 tries
    • Velstadt, The Royal Aegis
      • 20-30 tries
    • Guardian Dragon
      • 1-5 tries
    • The Giant Lord
      • 1-5 tries
    • The Ancient Dragon
      • 20-30 tries
      • I think that the dragon knights should have attacked me after attacking the Ancient Dragon, but they didn't because there were no drakekeepers around to attack me first.
    • Vendrick
      • 10-20 tries
    • The Throne Watcher and The Throne Defender
      • 30-40 tries
      • I think this fight is easier if you focus on the Throne Watcher more than on the Throne Defender
    • Nashandra
      • 1-5 tries
    • Aldia, Scholar of the first Sin
      • 10-20 tries
    • There were a couple of fights where I almost had them in the first or second try, but died when they had little life left.
    • I turned my back to the throne. I think it is the only ending that fits the theme of the Scholar of the First Sin edition.
    • Cerah the Old Explorer, The Afflicted Graverobber and Ancient Soldier Varg
      • 50-60 tries
      • Really difficult fight. I had to constantly run around the whole map and try to take down Cerah the Old Explorer first, The Afflicted Graverobber second and then try to survive fighting Ancient Soldier Varg, which was a real pain to fight. Also, I think Ancient Soldier Varg has the highest movement speed of all three, since he got to me first most of the time.
    • Elana, The Squalid Queen
      • 20-30 tries
      • I don't think I ever managed to win this fight if she had summoned Velstadt.
    • Sinh, The Slumbering Dragon
      • 30-40 tries
      • Kind of difficult because you had to run around the whole map to dodge his breath attacks and to try to hit him and had to dodge its large sweeping attacks with large hitboxes when positioned somewhere near his posterior members.
    • The Blue Smelter Demon
      • 220-230 tries
      • This was the worst fucking battle in the whole fucking game. I fucking hate this fucking fight. Absolute hell. When you try so many times to defeat the same foe, you realize how much of an inner battle this game really is. You realize it's not him, it's you. You're the one responsible for this situation. You chose to fight him. You chose not to level AGL. You chose not to clear the run before the boss because you've been able to defeat him without it the last time. You chose not to use passive healing items that would regenerate your health while he was passively burning you with his bright blue flame. You chose to dodge his hit in a diagonal direction instead of perfectly perpendicular to his blade. You chose to roll too fast. You chose all this and you don't feel there's a way back.
      • I hate this boss's design. I didn't expand the reasons why previously in the fight in the iron keep for this section here. Why the fuck does he rotate on his own axis? Why the fuck is he able to rotate without moving his fucking feet? Why the fuck is this possible? Why the fuck does he have such gigantic hitboxes? Why does the hit register when he touched me with his weapon's hilt at the end of his attack? Why is he able to hit me when I can see he swung his sword way above my head? Why the fuck does he have varying timing of his attacks? This really took it to the next level. This is where you had to pay attention to what you were doing and not just robotically move or roll one direction or the other when he swung or charged or jumped and plunged and landed in a stab.
      • Here's my strategy for defeating this boss. I used the Heide Lance, the Black Witch Set with the Veil for the magic protection, the Ring of Blades +1, the Simpleton's Ring, the Chloranthy Ring +1 and the Ring of Binding. I said I wouldn't level AGL, but I couldn't have done it without the Simpleton's Ring. Most of the subsequent boss fights were approached using this ring setup. I watched some YouTube videos to see how other people beat him and there's a video by Ray Dhimitri in which he tries to position himself in front of the opponent in order to make him perform a forward stab. I also observed that he did not stay near his right leg as I was doing, and so was not triggering as many horizontal slashes as I was. So I would recommend facing him and trying to position him in the middle of the arena so you roll sideways in case of a forward stab. After his stab, he will be near your initial position near a wall, and then you can hit him and then move to the centre of the arena where you have more space to move around and don't have to deal with the torch pillars located on the sides. Spacing is very important in dodging most of his horizontal slashes. I think the further away from him you are, the smaller the chance of being hit is because of the smaller hitbox and the bigger distance the tip of the sword has to travel as opposed to the hilt. Vertical cleaves are also easier to dodge with a greater space between you and your opponent. You can, most of the time, just walk back and let him hit the ground and then hit him. After he has buffed his weapon, a greater gap between you and him lets you dodge his travelling flame easier, as it gives you more time to, before it gets to you. Stabbing lunges must be dodged to his right, strictly in a perpendicular direction to his. Jumping plunges have to be dodged when he starts landing, as the timing of this attack varies.
      • There were about ten occasions where I took his health down to 10% and lost it because I couldn't keep my cool. Most of the time, if I took his health down to 25%, I could feel my heart beating harder and had to control my breathing to control myself. There was one occasion where he didn't buff himself, but buffed his blade, but I still didn't defeat him.
    • Raime, The Fume Knight
      • 50-60 tries
      • This boss was much easier than the previous one, but still a great fight. Being able to get from the bonfire to the boss fight in 30 seconds was very satisfying compared to the treacherous road I had to take before. I preserved 4 smelter wedges in the current playthrough, while in the first one I only had 3. Fighting him while he is using both swords is really easy compared to his second stage, in which he could one shot me with a sweeping attack. Dodging his fireballs is always tricky and always adds to the unpredictability of the fight. Once, he didn't get to his second stage because I unknowingly made him do forward smashes which lights his great sword and inhibits the change.
    • Sir Alonne
      • 50-60 tries
      • The best fight in the game. I full-heartedly enjoyed it. The design of every aspect made the whole experience unforgettable. I had to despawn all the enemies up to his room. And then, I had to learn to fight him, as I had given up in my first playthrough. I was entering new territory. Fantastic movement design. Dodging his moves was incredibly satisfying. It really felt like fighting an opponent who was a master of the art of fighting. It felt like a silent dialogue.
    • Aava, The King's Pet
      • 60-70 tries
      • Really hard fight. The hitboxes were awful. I had a very low success rate in trying to dodge its attacks towards her posterior members, so most of the time I rolled away from her and towards the left, as she would jump at me and try to hit me with her left paw. Rolling away from her was the solution to most of her attacks, the only problem being that you had to position yourself in the middle of the area. The Homing Ice Crystals were the only exception. If she was close, I would try to get behind her, so that the crystals wouldn't get to me and I could get some hits from there.
    • Lud and Zallen, The King's Pets
      • 60-70 tries
      • Really hard fight. Really hard area to pass through. My advice would be to try to take out one of them before the other starts attacking you. From them on, you have to keep your cool, as it is the same battle as before. I played very defensively until the buff of the second one wore off, so that I wouldn't throw away all the progress. I had no Estus Flasks and very few health points left when I had won.
    • The Burnt Ivory King
      • 40-50 tries
      • Great fight. Great boss entrance. Great pre-fight war. Great area. It never gets old falling to the Old Chaos. It took me more tries to get to the boss, than the boss itself. I really had to learn to manage the whole situation so that I could survive up until he entered the scene. He only took me 1-5 tries, as he had slow movements, but it was fun nonetheless.

    Areas impressions

    Awful areas

    • Frigid outskirts
      • Who the fuck designed this? What the fuck? Who the fuck thinks this is in any way satisfying to overcome? Spatial awareness is mostly occasional. I didn't know where to go the first few times I got here. I thought that there were certain spots where you could see the whole area, for a few seconds. I went on the wiki to see what I had to actually do and there I found out that you had to wait 30 seconds or so. The Frozen Reindeer charge at you from the blinding white of the blizzard and you can't do anything to stop them. When you see them it's already too late. There's no time to react to their thunderous gallop. I used the Large Club +8 that I had found in the Covetous Demon area in Eleum Loyce with the Stone Ring to tame these wild beasts.

    Good Areas

    • Heide's Tower of Flame and Cathedral of Blue
      • This is a very good looking area, but is too short, unfortunately. In my first playthrough, I really thought there would be more to do after beating the Old Dragonslayer, and I was somewhat disappointed of the short content of the Cathedral of Blue.
    • The Iron Keep
      • This area feels like a side-scrolling lava level with some optional areas along the way.
    • Dragon's Rest
      • What makes this area outstanding is the feeling of continuous descent you get by getting here all the way from Majula, even though you teleport in one section from the Black Gulch to Shulva.

    Really good areas

    • Things Betwixt and Majula
      • These two areas together create a great opening atmosphere.
    • The Gutter
      • What makes this area great is the feeling of progress you get by exploring every scaffold and lighting all the torches along the way.
    • Memories of the Giants
      • Great atmosphere. In my first playthrough, it was a really pleasant surprise to see a war going on in this game and so much activity in an area.

The best areas in the game

    • Dragon Memories
      • Superb atmosphere. It is completely astonishing to go back in time, in the Age of Ancients.
    • Dragon Aerie
      • Climbing up to those cliffs and seeing all those dragons flying all around is breathtaking.
    • Frozen Eleum Loyce
      • This is the best area in the game. It is wonderful. I loved the scale of the city and I loved exploring it.
    • Grand Cathedral and the Old Chaos
      • These two areas create a great atmosphere before the fight with the Burnt Ivory King. It never gets old falling to the Old Chaos.

    DLC impressions

All three DLC's were really good parts of the game, except for the optional areas. These were easily the most tedious parts with the worst bosses in the whole game.

    Item collecting and farming

    • There were four sets that I wanted to farm.
      • The Tseldora Set
        • The Spider Drone with the biggest drop rate for me was the one before the bridge with the Hollow Peasants mining on the sides.
      • The Desert Sorceress Set
        • Farmed mostly in Earthen Peak.
      • The Drakekeeper's Set
        • Farmed this set until all the drakekeepers despawned, except for the one guarding the stairs leading to the dragon egg.
      • The Alonne Captain's Set
        • I still don't have the helmet.
    • Incomplete sets that I have without farming for them specifically
      • Hollow Infantry Set
        • No Armour
      • Varangian Set
        • No Helm
      • Ironclad Set
        • No Helm
      • White Leydia Set
        • No Robe
      • Fume Sorcerer Set
        • No Boots
    • Pieces of sets that I have
      • Black Hollow Mage Hood, Shadow Mask, Gyrm Helm, Ruin Helm, Mad Warrior Mask, Sanctum Knight Helm
      • Rogue Armour, Imperious Armour
      • Gyrm Warrior Gloves, 3 Syan's Gauntlets, Lion Warrior Cuffs, Insolent Gloves, Old Knight Gauntlets
      • Gyrm Warrior Boots, Syan's Leggings, Lion Warrior Skirt, Mastodon Leggings, Rusted Mastodon Leggings, Imperious Leggings, Insolent Boots
    • Weapons
      • 4 Demon's Great Hammers, 2 Channeler's Tridents, 2 Old Whips
    • Loyce Soul farming
      • As I did not want to spoil the Burnt Ivory King fight, I read about it and the Old Chaos only afterwards. There, I found that I need 50 souls to get Alsanna's soul and the Ivory King's armour, while I only had 16. On top of that, I found out that the Charred Loyce Knights drop rate decreases after defeating the Burnt Ivory King. So I started farming. It was tough at first, learning to manage all 3 knights that spawned, but soon enough, I began using the Large Club +8 to flatten them, just I had done to the Frozen Reindeer. When that weapon began to wear down, I used the Demon's Great Hammers. When they had stopped spawning, I joined the Covenant of Champions, making the fights a bit gnarlier. The souls dropped at a rate of 3 per hour and I needed 34, so I have farmed these Souls for about 12 hours, including all the research and duplicate items selling and the gaping at all the 3 sets that I have obtained after all this work.

    Plans for the future

    • NG+
      • I didn't start with any stat goals this playthrough but as I went along, I thought about what stat would help me most by upgrading it for the next 10 levels. So I got from 20 VGR, END, VIT, STR and DEX with 6 ADP, INT, FTH and ATN, to 70 VIT with 20 VGR, END, STR and DEX and 6 ADP, INT, FTH and ATN, to 70 VIT with 30 VGR, END, STR and DEX and 6 ADP, INT, FTH and ATN, to 70 VIT and END with 30 VGR, STR and DEX and 6 ADP, INT, FTH and ATN. I plan on leveling END up to 99 and then level STR and DEX, but I don't know how NG+ really is so this might change as well. I plan on using different weapons from NG and my first playthrough.
    • New Character
      • I want to play as a Sorceress, as I haven't played a magic based character before.

    DSII Platinum discussion (PS4)

    Posted: 31 Dec 2019 11:26 AM PST

Hello everyone. I recently just picked up Ds2 for the ps4, and I'm really close to getting to the platinum trophy.

I haven't had much interaction online, and that leads me to worry that the online community is super small or nonexistent entirely? This would be a problem as I was hoping to max out sunbro covenant, and bell keeper covenant for the miracle and sorcery.

If anyone can give me an idea of what the community is looking like these days, or if anyone knows a way to complete these things in spite of online play, please let me know.

    Thanks skeletons!

I would like to say something that might be a bit controversial.

    Posted: 30 Dec 2019 08:04 PM PST

The Smelter demon and It's Blue counterpart are stupid easy. Their Attacks are extremely easy to dodge and I see barely any delays. It might be hard because people tend to dodge as soon as the attacks winds up but I only dodge once his sword lands, once you learn the dodge timing to the smelter demons they are easy as hell. I think some of the reasons why he is hard in other people's point if view is because they both have football court sized health bars and they both dish off tons of damage but for me, their attacks are really slow, like what I said, makes them easy to dodge.

Well that is all my opinion. Tell me your smelter demon/ blue smelter demon experiences.
