Posted: 11 Nov 2019 07:53 PM PST I JUST BEAT MY VERY FIRST RUN OF DARK SOULS! I ended up with a strength build using the Man-Serpent Greatsword with the Eagle shield. Words can't describe how happy and exhilarated that last fight made me! [link] [comments] |
What SL do players reach The Painted World of Arimais on average? Posted: 12 Nov 2019 12:18 AM PST I'm a Protector of Priscilla and am having trouble finding people at SL 50. Am I too high or is it just a low traffic area? [link] [comments] |

A veteran gamer souling it up for the first time - the weekly update! Posted: 11 Nov 2019 04:27 PM PST Will contain spoilers - be advised The weekend is at an end, the cat is traumatized for life and the weekly report is due for Orangesaurus, the soul's virgin. But first and foremost and the most important I must say, what a fantastic community this is. I thought I would write a little post about how I picked up DS and it would disappear in the background noise but instead, I was flooded by good advise, good luck wishes and general goodwill. <3 I left off in my last post at the triumphant victory of the tower gargoyles and I got to feel really good about that accomplishment for almost 30 minutes. Then I developed an acute and immediate hatred of demon dogs. The goat-headed demon itself is a right bastard, but those dogs .. nuke em from space, its the only way to be sure. It took me at least 5-6 tries to figure out their positions and acknowledge that they are the real threat of the fight. Once down the demon itself was pretty manageable. Relatively speaking. A few tries later I banished it back to the 7th circle of hell and went for the deeps... Boss score fun meter 6/10 ... And then I considered renaming my character to "trap-door locator 9000" I don't think I missed any of them. But after fumbling around down there for a while I got a feel for the layout and the mobs down there was super easy and so ... BAM CURSED! That goofy-looking googly-eyed frog mutation spat wicked lyrics at me! Backtracking .. farm souls .. buy expensive stone from the shifty-looking undead saleswoman onward .. to my fist DS disappointment. *gasp* The gaping dragon! After en EPIC looking cut-scene .. I parked myself at its butt and proceded to pummel it to death. After gargoyles and goat demon I expected for the difficulty to ramp up .. not down. I don't know if it is bugged or what's up. But it just kinda stood there and puked green for a while. Shift a bit, roll a bit, pummel away. Loot. Boss score fun meter 2/10 Onward to blight town. Whoever thought it to be a good idea to build a city of slippery, moldy old planks over the bottomless gaping pit should be taken out back and shot. And more FU***NG dogs. Hard to target, fire-breathing, fast and aggressive. Blowdart pygmies and .. whatever those things are .. that place is truly shitty. And those big f***ers with clubs can go to hell too. After being killed by the gravity boss for the 26th time I finally made landfall in the swamp. To be honest not to bad. Slow mobs, poison is negligible, the slow-moving is annoying but that is it. Kinda unremarkable. At least until ... FIRE SPIDER LADY This was fun. After 5-6 tries I got the pattern down and it was only a matter of patience. I think this would have been a better introductory boss than the gargoyles. I found it slow and it telegraphed its movements to an almost silly degree. But dangerous enough so that if you f**k up or get greedy you have to corpse run. Boss score fun meter 6/10 .. onward to ... Sen's fortress .. OH MY GOD HOW FUN IS THIS!! The traps, the stones, the darts. This is the ABSOLUTE BEST. I actually laughed out loud when I didn't get off the elevator fast enough and got mission impossible spiked up top. The MIMIC .. oh . this is top-notch level design. I just realized now as I am writing that I have to go back. I did see some bigger mobs in a hole at the start that I forgot. I can't wait. All was top notch until .. THE GOLEM, which in itself was not bad .. me rolling off the ramparts 10 times was on the other hand kinda infuriating. Until I remembered the mantra this game has been trying to teach me. Don't get greedy. So relaxed, it was an easy win. Boss score fun meter 5/10 And that was my weekend ... This game is STILL the best I have played in DECADES. [link] [comments] |
how is the switch version of this game? Posted: 11 Nov 2019 09:22 AM PST I own most souls games on PC, but I bought remastered on PS4. I kind of want to play the game again and ive had a lot of down time at work and thinking of getting it on switch. is there still population there at all? does the game run well? [link] [comments] |
All I can say is...thank the sun for the firebomb cheese at the Capra demon boss fight. Posted: 11 Nov 2019 01:32 PM PST I nearly gave up on it and considered making a new character with the master key just to skip it, safe to say I'm glad this cheese exists, And on the point of cheese it makes me think how well DS1 is designed compared to DS3 which is the only other DS I have played DS1 is far more open in terms of how to tackle something like this whereas DS3 is far more linear it's some good ass game design. Posted: 11 Nov 2019 11:22 PM PST Noob here. Can someone please explain the kill the dogs meme? I have been perusing the sub for a while, and I've come across it a few times. I just wanted to know to which dogs the meme refers to: All the Undead Dogs or specific ones? I'm doing my first play-through now, and I have not yet encountered Sif. (If that helps) I did just kill the Capra Demon though, and wow. It sucked. The dogs in that fight sucked. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Nov 2019 08:47 PM PST I have been playing for a while but I am a little stumped, for you see I really am only good at making strength builds with either faith or intelligence, but I have made a character based around a certain weapon the Moonlight greatsword and was wondering if anyone have some armor combos complement the blade, any ideas? Posted: 11 Nov 2019 08:33 PM PST First time DS player here. Just wondering if any of you fine people have found a way to kill skeletons and MAKE THEM STAY DEAD? [link] [comments] |

What on earth is the recommended level for the dlc? Posted: 11 Nov 2019 09:17 AM PST Ive quite easily passed the four kings (nito took me 4 attempts, BoC 2 and the rest 1). Bear in mind that this is like my 5th playthrough. Its the first time ive decided to bother with the dlc and i cant put a fucking dent into the guardian which is apparently easy. What is the recommended level for this place? Sorry for being a bitch i just beat artorias. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 11 Nov 2019 01:56 PM PST Pretty much the title, I'm fighting o and s, I have a lightning claymore +2 for Smoigh, I have a bss +5 for super Ornstein, I wanted to try and upgrade it, it was divine but I put it back to normal, o have large shards but I can't see the sword I neither reinforce or modify? Any ideas? Also fuck o and s. I have only gotten to stage 2 five times, and have only damaged him twice in 2 hours of throwing myself against them actually really trying to fight them. I'm so annoyed right now and I don't know what to do Edit: I have the large ember, that's not the issue. I don't know what is the issue though Edit: I gave the Large Ember to Andre, is he the only one able to do the upgrade? He probably is, isn't he.... [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Nov 2019 03:02 PM PST Thought Fall control magic would help me to explore the great hollow... Sadly I was wrong. I slipped, bounced among branches, and died. I went back to retrieve, but slipped again, and this time an intant death. Lost all my humanities (10!) and nearly 20k souls. :((( Fall control certainly didn't help me control my falling into this tree hole. .. One question about vagrant. Does this mean my lost humanity and souls will turn into a vagrant in another world? (i was playing online when i died). I have met vagrant in anor londo, sanctury garden, and undead parish, though never in great holow. Anyone encounter one there? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Nov 2019 01:19 PM PST So I've decided to do a pyro build with Dex and intelligence, I can't decide on the artorias gs. Yes I've beaten the game and know what I'm doing and know about both weapons, I'm just crippled with indecision on which weapon I should get. I'm not sure if that's the right gs, I mean the one from sif's soul. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Nov 2019 09:22 PM PST Like that was legit the coolest aspect, not knowing how much health she had, having to stay vigilant watching the footprints, dodging and attacking, honestly one of my favorite bossfights! But I just watched 2 different videos and she became visible after like 3 hits and looked like the easiest boss ever... Like I fought her 3 times, and she was invisible the whole time, for reference I used a +5 Fire Uchigatana for the first 2 and a maxed Lighting Halberd for the last one where I beat her. Also the fight was like 3+ minutes at least so not like a 3 hit KO. Honestly believe her being invisible the whole time woulda (was for me) the right choice because it made it feel like a real boss, unlike what I saw on youtube lol. [link] [comments] |
bizarre Duke's Archives glitch?? Posted: 11 Nov 2019 11:33 AM PST I reached the teleport bonfire in the Dukes Archives, however the doorway you have to go through to reach the garden is simply not there! The wall is only bookshelves! I checked the location with a different character just to be sure I'm not mixing something up and there the doorway is clearly visible! What the heck is going on??? (I'm playing PtdE on PC) [link] [comments] |
Coming over from DS3, what should I know? Posted: 11 Nov 2019 05:13 PM PST Hey guys, I'm pretty new to Fromsoft games, my first being Dark Souls 3 which I received as a gift. Now starting play throughs on DS2, BB, and DS Remastered. DSR is so far long and far away the most interesting. So what advice would you give someone who's only experience was DS3? Combat adjustment is going well. Trying to get adjusted to the humanity system versus just being embered. Any advice appreciated, praise the sun. EDIT: I intend to focus on the remaster for the immediate future, so I don't necessarily need advice for DS2 or BB right now. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Nov 2019 02:35 PM PST Hey all. I've noticed a SOLID soul level for consistent pvp is SL50, and have been having an absolute blast. However, my OCD is driving me nuts optimizing the perfect build for the level. I've tried running Gold Tracer/Quelaag's with giants gloves/wolf ring for 61 poise. Tried a 28 str build, worked great. I'm kind of looking at doing an elemental Uchi build, just getting bare minimum to wield and reallocating those points to another stat, likely vit/end. There's surprisingly not a ton a helpful discussions via google on the topic of SL50 builds in the remaster, so, if you're also into this bracket, let's see your build! [link] [comments] |
Aight I see u (dark souls that is) Posted: 11 Nov 2019 08:25 PM PST Currently in blight town and sick of falling to death. love a challenge and have honestly played hard ass games in my life. Shin megami tensei's IV unforgiving and no ducking defense stat? But I'm so tired of just yeeting to gravity lol [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Nov 2019 02:10 PM PST I've tried everything many times and have always hit some ng+ barrier, either 4kings O&S or any list of other things I finally did it as a BSS mage with midrollling giant armor It felt kinda cheap but at and rate i have finally done it [link] [comments] |
