    Is the game fun?

    Posted: 09 Oct 2019 10:26 AM PDT

Hi everyone, I'm a huge fan of the souls series and have played DS1, DSR, DS3 and bloodborne, the only game I haven't played is this one and i was wondering if it's worth the money and fun to play, I see a lot of hate on this game for some reason so it'd be nice to see what peoples gripes with the game are.

Why does the lost dinner attack you?

    Posted: 08 Oct 2019 03:44 PM PDT

Isn't her whole schtick that she's punishing herself? What better punishment is there than simply allowing you to kill her?

    Edit: please excuse the error.

Edit: seems no one's gonna excuse the error, oh well.

After playing ds3, then coming to ds2, hello poise, it's been long

    Posted: 08 Oct 2019 09:24 PM PDT

I like that i actually had to put on some poise to deal with those white phantoms that have daggers in the shaded woods, dogs and rats also.

What makes the poise equip load balance even more fun to play with, is incremental changes in equip load look like they're helping my dodges avoid more hits, maybe i'm wrong and its just about adaptability, but i swear i'm able to dodge more on 40% than 55%.

I'm having alot of fun here

    I need some answers

    Posted: 09 Oct 2019 10:56 AM PDT

My newest character (DELETUS) has made it farther than any of my other characters. I've killed all bosses up until the undead crpyt and done all available bosses in the dlcs. SO WHY WERE THE RUIN SENTINELS HARDER THAN ALL THESE BOSSES?!?!

There is a very newbie guide for PvP in Dark Souls?

    Posted: 09 Oct 2019 11:59 AM PDT

    Hello everyone

I've never played PvP in any Dark Souls. I beat the game sometimes but only PvE (Offline), but I got PSPlus and want to test the PvP of the game, but I have no idea on how to begin. I have read somethings about Soul Level and Soul Memory but where do I fight and things like that?

Thanks in advance. Any tips for PvP are welcome too (:

    Cheats, lag, or something else?

    Posted: 09 Oct 2019 01:30 AM PDT

Just fought a Smelter cosplay (on PC) who was powerstancing both Smelter swords, and when he did the attack that causes blue flames to spread on the ground (L1? L2?), I roll backstabbed him but somehow I took continuous damage throughout the whole backstab animation (as if I was standing on lava or something) and died at the end of the backstab even though I'm supposed to have i-frames during a backstab.

Any idea what that's about? Cheats, some bizarre lag, or what?

Am I the only one feels this way?

    Posted: 09 Oct 2019 04:48 AM PDT

DS2 was my first Dark Souls game.At least the one I finished first. I played this game 3 years ago and I didn't get why so many people hate it. And I finished DS3 this summer and bought up DSR too. After finishing DS3 6 or 7 times I star playing DSR too. It was good but not as people praise it to be, and had a lot of frusturating things in it but not the combat, combat is still very good. And after finishing DSR I started playing DS2. And I am so frusturated with the game I think I'm not gonna finish it.

First off it's not as bad as DS1 in my opinion but backtracking sucks. You have to go back and forth at least 4 times if you want to finish the game. I like the metroidvania style but those back and forths dont give me anything to care about. I was amazed when I beat Yhorm and game teleported me to starting area and it opened a new path to a new location. Like I saw that place before but it didn't really occured to me that I will fight a boss in there and it will lead me to the final boss. Nothing like this happened in DS2.

But my real problem with the game is combat. Combat is very bad. I mean there are 2 types of bosses.First type is strafe left or right to dont get hit. Other type is come with a friend. There are so many bosses that are designed for coop that it felt like I'm playing some kind of standard hack and slash. And weapon movesets are utter garbage too. Is both the triggers being slash attacks are really needed in the same weapon. And no smash attacks are really bugs me down. I cannot fucking kill those crystal lizards in this game there is no real smash attack, smash attacks that are in this game are not a 90° smash they are inclined. It's like developers didn't think about that and they tried to make a hack and slash type of game really. There are some weapons that are legitimately cannot hit any lizard and 2 handed or 1 handed doesn't matter, and when those lizards have so little time to disappear than any other souls games I stopped caring about that because other than Dragon Tooth that I cant even use with my stats as of moment there is no way to kill those lizards maybe magic but I dont use magic.

Also backstabs and ripostes are very bad in this game, they are not perfect in other games too but this is some other level. You have to be at the side of enemy in order to backstab not the back like WTF. And you can legitimately take damage while trying to backstab or being the one who is getting backstabed. Ripostes are another problem too. After your parry you have to wait at least 0.5 to one second in order to riposte and you can take damage while trying to do that too. And being able to take hit while you are doing an action is another toughtless design choice too. Running and passing enemies while not to die is a challenge itself why should I have to get punished in order to reach smelter demon against 15 Samurai wannabes in the same room. Boss is already harder than most of the game offers but you can take damage while trying to enter that room. Game clearly wants me to kill each of them 12 times so they cant respawn. Perfect game design if you ask me.

NG+ is another bullshit too. I tought it would be fun if new enemies and challenges are present in your later playtroughs so I bonfire asceticted some areas and I tried to kill Lost Sinner. I wish I didn't, there are two more npc invaders in boss area like wtf. Are they trying to do what DS1 did in its shitty pvp. It's pure bullshit.

And they tried to make infusions more meaningful but while doing that they made stats useless. You can get any weapon make your stats at required level, infuse it raw and dont care at all about anything you will get more damage than any stats so you can use your stats for hp or endurance and welcome giantdad 2 point 0.

I finally get why people were pissed with this game. I dont care about downgrade or anything about that I dont play this games for graphics but when Miyazaki and his team made their Magnum Opus named Bloodborne and B(est) team made this toughtless game, it was very obvious why people hate it. Toughtless is the word that describes this game. Nothing seems planned or intentional in this game this game feels like Deck 13 souls clones not a souls game. I remember DLC's were good but when I dont care about to get to that point and find those dlc keys in the main game I won't try to do those parts most likely.

Edit:I forgot to mention but rolling attacks and locking on is useless in this game. Locking on exists to not hit anywhere other than target but in this game it doesn't matter where you lock on, you can hit your back because you locked on and moved a little backwards.

New guy here, I have a question

    Posted: 08 Oct 2019 06:53 PM PDT

I've played ds1 for hundreds of hours and never tried 2 so now here I am I have the game installed and am playing but I don't see a "load" option on title screen, can you only have one character at a time or am I missing something? I was getting wrecked as a cleric so I wanted to retry as a sorcerer but I don't see a load option so I'm worried I may lose my progress

Edit for second question* does my health decrease every time i die or am I seeing things

Hey, tips for Dark Souls 2?

    Posted: 08 Oct 2019 08:16 PM PDT

Hi. I recently beat Dark Souls 1 and loved it.

I just started DS2 the other night. I've beaten the Last Giant and I'm at Heide's Tower of Flame, and the game is just ridiculous. I feel like it's way harder than DS1. I feel really underleveled or something. Am I really supposed to sit here and kill these same enemies over and over again so I can level up? Because it's taking forever. I don't understand how anyone could think this game is easy. Any tips? Make fun of me, idc, my brain is probably gonna die

Is Vendrick is the greatest king to ever live, is Gwyn lumped in there as well? Like would Vendrick kick Gwyns ass?

    Posted: 08 Oct 2019 04:56 PM PDT

As far as hollow forms are concerned, hollow Gwyn did alright damage when he hit you. Vendrick just kind of casually swings his sword and one shots you. You think that means anything or like... I'm genuinely curious what your thoughts on a Gwyn vs Vendrick fight.
