How come Iron Keep sit at the top of an elevator at Earthen Peak? Posted: 17 Oct 2019 06:55 AM PDT Hi guys, I'm playing DS2 for the first time and I got really perplexed when climbing the elevator and heading into the fortress. I mean, THIS is Earthen Peak: There's no where to go at it's top. Then suddenly you take an elevator and boom, there's a fortress sunken in lava. Is this somehow explained in the game's lore? Or is it just a level design flaw? Edit: I'm not trashing the game or otherwise hating it even if it is a screw up design, I'm just curious. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Oct 2019 07:17 AM PDT I'm trying to get all the blues flames on the map in Majula but i was wondering do i really need to get to ng+9 (i think) or can i use Bonfire Ascetic? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Oct 2019 08:59 AM PDT Last night I soloed Fume Knight on my new low SM character (39999). This was after attempting the fight since Sunday evening. Probably had 100-200 deaths on him, but I watched a video of someone doing it on SL 1 NG+7 CoC no blocking or rolling, and I mimicked his dodging routing (I rolled though), and was able to beat Fume Knight finally! It felt so amazing! I am now working on Sir Alonne, and I have Darklurker and Ivory King afterwards. I love this game! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Oct 2019 05:14 PM PDT Was just invaded in Iron Keep bridge, which is usually odd because I'm level 302, there's not as much activity as there is near the mid 100's. So, the guy invades, comes to the middle of the bridge, sets down a prism stone, and proceeds to give me set upon set of gear only found in the DLC and exclusives. I don't have SOTFS, so I was immediately extremely happy to see Raime's, Alonne's, and other things pop up in my inventory. This guy really gave me a boatload of gear, including the Symbol of Avarice, something I've wanted for a long time. I message the guy, thanking him a lot for the stuff, telling him he can backstab me to death if he wants. He never does, so we mess around a little bit before he waves and jumps straight off the bridge and plummets into lava. Never had an invader like that, surely is a great welcome back to the game after months of being burnt out. Bless that dude. [link] [comments] |
I miss the old days of multiplayer Posted: 17 Oct 2019 12:19 AM PDT Constant summons, constant invasions, everybody discovering the game together, everybody figuring out that lightning spears were ungodly OP, all that time spent at the Cathedral of Blue helping out newbies who didn't know what an Ornstein was so they can get their Tower Shield and Heide Knight Iron Mask to go with their Greatsword and Drangleic Set... good times. After all, is ADP a good attribute? Posted: 17 Oct 2019 04:24 AM PDT There are many discussions about ADP. Some say it is good for the game, others it was an unnecessary creation. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Oct 2019 05:09 AM PDT So I just got to the end of the Ivory King dlc. I've been playing as a hexer. Dark Roaring halberd, Dark silverblack sickle, and robes for gear. The Loyce knights were ganging up on me and chasing me all over the arena. I could barely land a hit without getting smacked back by a few of them. Using hexes was about the same; poor damage and hard to find a good window. It wasn't working for me. So I pulled out my old +10 mace, two-handed it because my faith, int, and attunement were way sub-optimal. Put on the stone ring and as much poise as I could wear and not fat roll. The difference was night and day. Loyce knights stunlocked and dropping like flies. Even when they snuck up on me they lost every trade, or got caught up in a stunlocking R1 flurry. The knights largely subdued, it wasn't long before the King fell. Super fun fight, and overcoming it was a great challenge. I'm really enjoying the dlcs. I still have the Old Iron King left. My question is, did I do something wrong? Is there a good way to tackle this fight as a mage/hexer that I just didn't hit on? Because this approach felt very square peg/round hole. I just geared my way into strength and poise, stats be damned. [link] [comments] |

Is there any link between the story of Dark Souls I and II? Posted: 17 Oct 2019 12:54 PM PDT Recently finished the first Dark Souls Remastered, played a bit of II but I don't seem to find that Dark Souls II continues the story of the first DS game. Just wondering if the story has a link between these 2 games or Dark Souls II has a complete different lore. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Oct 2019 10:08 AM PDT After beating DS1 for the first time recently, i started playing DS2. Let me tell you, that scrub feeling all over again.. How often I've died now in the beginning. Either way, my question is, i haven't figured out how to compare equipment in stores yet. When i check out equipment i can see its stats, and my total stats, but not whether or not the item will be an upgrade or downgrade. For now I've resorted to writing down the stats of my equipment and then check out the merchants. But there's gotta be an easier way, no? Am i missing something obvious? (Apologies of its a scrub question) [link] [comments] |
To those of you that black crystal summons Posted: 16 Oct 2019 07:59 PM PDT I hate you with every fiber of my being. How big of a jerk do you have to be to send someone home after clearing the area and not letting an heir of the sun help you with the boss? [link] [comments] |

Which covenants are still worth it nowadays? Posted: 17 Oct 2019 10:27 AM PDT I just got into DS2 on PC and the scene is understandably rather dead. I tried out a few covenants and quite a few of them are dead-ends. Blue Sentinels doesn't appear to find anybody when I use a cracked orb. I can't imagine anybody trying to rank up nowadays; that would be painful. I tried the bellkeepers over 4 hours and got summoned once. Given the sparse player count, which covenants are still worthwhile to go after? It seems like any that require a ring for participation are disqualified because you're using up a slot in exchange for long periods of silence. [link] [comments] |
Cosplays you have seen/created in the Arena? Posted: 17 Oct 2019 09:29 AM PDT I have currently only created two cosplays: Havel 2.0 (Havel armor with powerstanced Dragon Teeth) Risky Boots (used the ring that turns your left hand invisible and casted Dark Orbs with it to simulate a Piratehandgun, and used the quest reward from Gilligan as my main hand weapon.) What are some OP builds so I can get through the DLCs? Posted: 17 Oct 2019 08:51 AM PDT I never did any "OP" build in any souls game. I'm near the end, and I want to test some of the top PVE builds that I can get. Currently, I'm using a full STR build with the Craftsman's Hammer, that is not exactly bad, but I heard people saying that some builds are near 1k damage each build, that is like more than the double I'm doing now. Any suggestions? [link] [comments] |
Help with Smelter Demon (Xbox) I tried r/SummonSign no one helped Posted: 17 Oct 2019 07:36 AM PDT This guy is destroying me. Place summon sign next to first bonfire. I try to run past all the guys to save estus flask but end up getting cornered at the fog gate. When I kill everything I only have like 3 estus flask. My god is Evlana. This is my first time doing ds2 co-op so tell me if I am doing something wrong. I really need help. I tried summon sign no one helped. I am playing Scholar of the first sin. My soul memory is 611,588. [link] [comments] |
Which covernent should i join? Posted: 17 Oct 2019 01:17 AM PDT Im pretty noobish to Dark Souls as a franchise and was just wondering what covernent should i join and do they all make the game harder? Right now im at the Rat King's area and im not sure if i should join him or not. [link] [comments] |
Licia spoils my life without even being there Posted: 16 Oct 2019 05:55 PM PDT So I decided to make a sorcerer build this time which means I need no miracles so I decided to kill Licia right after Dragonrider fight. Unfortunately I lost to her and since I respawned there was no single trace of Licia neither in Heide's nor in Majula. She's just completely gone with all of her stuff which means I can't go to the copse by any means. I reached the castle by collecting 1m souls and guess what? Nameless usurper doesn't invade me. The same for the crypt. After I found the crushed eye orb I went to the rotunda and... nothing, it doesn't work. After all of this it gets obvious that the game thought it was Licia who lost that fight, not me which means she's technically dead. And as far as she left nothing behind I shall never reach neither iron keep nor brume tower on this ng cycle. Thanks so much, Licia, my character won't find all the crowns to cure the curse and just go hollow along with all of your victims! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Oct 2019 05:55 PM PDT I recently finished DS1 ptd edition on pc. As you might imagine online is long gone for it, I was only able to summon once. I also chickened out one too many times and ended up looking at the wiki, info online etc I admit that this took some enjoyment out of the game, my fault. I started DS2 sotfs yesterday on my ps4 and oh BOY seeing all those goddamn messages man! So many ghosts running around! Going in blind! I'm glad that I'll not fuck up the exploration part this time. I just went through the first boss I guess? It's a stone giant, and I shit you not, there were THREE summons signs at it's entrance, you guys have no idea how weird this felt to me. Anyway, it's been a while since I last laughed so hard at something so incredible, so this dude I summoned started throwing bombs at the wall. Figured he was bullshitting, was almost banishing him when all of a sudden the wall fucking colapsed revealling a shortcut to where I was making a run through, unbelievable. I let out a welcome gesture, seemed fitting. He wrecked the boss though which kind of ruined its awesome presentation, I'll try not to summon often. Oh man I went in trying not to be biased since there's some negativity about this game, but atm I don't understand such comments, it's different I guess but I'm having fun. [link] [comments] |
