/r/DarkSouls - Modding Monday. Posted: 01 Nov 2020 10:10 PM PST Welcome to the weekly Dark Souls mod announcement and discussion thread! Beware! Use of mods whilst connected to the internet can cause you to get banned from online play! For more information, or to continue the discussion visit /r/ModSouls Using mods (PC only!) to enhance or add new content to the Souls games is great fun! It is important, however, to understand that mods are against From's EULA/ToS, so there is a great risk of being banned when using them due to From's anti-cheat--which is deployed in most versions of the Souls games. Versions of the games where modding is safe due to no anti-cheat: Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition Versions of the games where modding carries a very high risk of being banned: Dark Souls: Remastered Dark Souls II Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin Dark Souls III Our recommendations for safe modding *This advice is intended for first-time or relatively inexperienced modders who want to get into modding without risking a ban on their main Steam account. Basic Steps: Make a separate Steam account Use Steam's Family Sharing feature to provide your new account with access to your main Steam account's game library. Install games to be used with the new account in a separate directory. Once you've found your mods be sure to read (and follow) the mod author's instructions carefully prior to installation. Set Steam to "off line" mode. Install the mods and perform any necessary setup. Enjoy the fun and interesting experiences offered by mods! Be sure to remove all file components of the mod before going back online! Posted: 01 Nov 2020 08:39 PM PST I know its not a impressive thing, most people here have already beaten the game many times, still im really happy with myself. Dark souls is a game that changed the way I view videogames, art and the world and saying that dark souls changed my life would be an understatement. Dark souls helped me a lot during this strange times, I have beaten dark souls 3, bloodborne and dark souls 1 and I hope that soon I'll be able to play sekiro and demon souls. I fell happy, accomplished and empty. This game was one of the few art works that made me cry, the story characters and gameplay are amazing. Borrowing dark souls 3 from my friend was one of the best things I've ever done. There no words to describe how much I love this game and how much it affected me, thanks for reading, I had to share my experience with someone. [link] [comments] |

Let’s talk Blighttown load outs Posted: 02 Nov 2020 02:16 AM PST So I'm starting the harrowing journey into Blighttown. I've been using Raw Longsword and some shadow garb I found on my first run into Blighttown due to the agility and poison resistance but I'm really struggling with it. Anyone have any tips or things that worked for them their first time through? I'm not really a fan of heavy weapons (I've not used them in the other soulsbourne games. I don't know why I'm playing them in the wrong order either). [link] [comments] |

Posted: 02 Nov 2020 02:01 AM PST I've been using the Claymore for the majority of my play though but I'm starting to grow tired of it and would like something that packs more of a punch... what would be the recommended weapon of choice after the claymore? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 02 Nov 2020 12:15 AM PST Hey guys I'm currently on my first play through of the game roughly 20-30 hours in. I'm loving the game so far as it's something new for me considering I've mostly played FIFA and Minecraft prior to this. I've been reliant on the Drake sword however I'm aware that it doesn't scale well and isn't that good mid-to-late game so I'm wondering what great weapons will be of good use as I progress further. I've been using the Claymore and the Uchigatana a lot and I'm loving both. Thanks I'm advance! [link] [comments] |

Are Miyazaki led games smaller in scale? Posted: 01 Nov 2020 09:31 PM PST Demon's Souls, led by Miyazaki, small scale. Dark Souls, also led by Miyazaki, open world but still small scale, small number of areas and items. Dark Souls 2, led by different team, huge game, tons of stuff. Bloodborne, Miyazaki led, the trend continues. Dark Souls 3, led by a different team at first, Miyazaki was assigned at a very late stage of development, sits between DS1 and DS2 in scale. Sekiro, Miyazaki led, nuff said. Also DS2 and DS3 are the two games with most troubled development, tons of stuff cut/changed. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Nov 2020 11:26 PM PST I was just doing a new run through when I realized I didn't have a good enough weapon to do the O and S boss fight, so I went back to Sen's fortress and bought myself a great sword from the merchant there and then went back to Anor Londo and plus fived it. I took out the sentinels outside the fog gate along with the silver knight, and then summoned solaire and went to the boss fight. I decided to distract Smough while Solaire took care of Ornstien. I got to the second phase, hit Smough with a two attack combo, and STAGGERED HIM? I had no idea this was possible but it made the boss fight much easier than previous runs. I ended up beating the boss fight on that run, thanks to solaire and my great sword. TLDR: you can stagger Smough with a great sword. That is all. What was your first, "Oh shit I can do that?" moment in dark souls? [link] [comments] |
Which game do you recommend I start with? Posted: 01 Nov 2020 10:42 PM PST Hey I've never played a souls game before and I thought if anyone would know it would be you guys. For background information I haven't really beat a hard game but the hardest thing I did was I beat Jedi Fallen Order on hard mode which I've heard is similiar to souls. Would like some help please. :) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Nov 2020 02:27 AM PST I'm looking for some advice, currently Sekiro is going for €45 on the ps store. Dark souls 1 has to be my second favorite game of all time, right behind SH2. It absolutely blew me away when I played it and exploring the world was addicting. Dark souls 3 was pretty decent, didn't give me that same feeling ds1 did though. But here's the thing I'm worried about. Sekiro doesn't seem to have any of that. It seems to be completely actionbased with almost no rpg elements, not in character building and not in the world immersion type way. I'm not sure I'll enjoy it. I didn't enjoy bloodborne. And it had nothing to do with the combat, it was the world that was off putting, I felt like there was nothing to the world. Every level was just a level to get through and nothing more. Souls combat is a chore if there is nothing driving you to keep pushing through. Also a big thing for me were the character quests in ds1, not only were the characters fantastic, so mysterious and strange which made them so appealing. You had to know more about them so you'd make sure you'd not miss them. But also, the way the quests were structuree, like an easter egg. I really enjoyed that, despite just going with a guide. What makes Sekiro so good? If it's just the combat then I think I'm gonna save my cash, maybe buy the new amnesia game that's just out. Please tell me what you think, before you tell me that this should be posted in the sekiro sub, they are going to have biased opinions, as a person who loved ds1, and hated bloodborne, will I enjoy Sekiro? Just started dark souls, any recommendations? Posted: 01 Nov 2020 08:13 PM PST After beating Dark Souls 2 twice, I finally bought Dark Souls 1. Is there anything I need to know before beginning the endless deaths (like an important mechanic or something like that)? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Nov 2020 01:58 AM PST Solaire made O&S easy for me. I just spammed soul arrows, and soul spears. [link] [comments] |
Covenants to give humanity to? Posted: 01 Nov 2020 09:51 PM PST I have some extra humanity from grinding items that I'd rather not keep on me. I've given 30 to Chaos, and to the Darkwraith covenants. Are there any other covenants to give it to get some gear? [link] [comments] |

What was your biggest “oh shit!” moment? *spoilers* Posted: 01 Nov 2020 10:39 AM PST For me it was getting into the Demon Ruins, getting past the first Capra Demon, to find 5 of them staring me down just around the corner.... literally, a total oh shit! moment for me. [link] [comments] |
My friend beat dark souls for the first time and said "did I get the good ending" ha Posted: 01 Nov 2020 12:59 PM PST |
Posted: 01 Nov 2020 07:43 PM PST 1) In the wiki, it said that it travels between worlds. Does that mean it only works on online, or can you make it work offline? 2) How many humanities or what items must one lose in order to make them spawn? Thank you very much!! [link] [comments] |
