Two f***ing hours to get past the Archers... Posted: 09 Jun 2020 07:02 PM PDT Thank god I made it past the worst duo in Anor Londo. gently sobs [link] [comments] |
You can jump down the well in fire link. Posted: 09 Jun 2020 09:35 AM PDT Idk if this is already well known but I just found out. I was bored so I decided to see if I could make a jump from the slightly raised ground near the well. Well, it turns out you can and when you do you just fall into the void and die. Posted: 10 Jun 2020 05:26 AM PDT I missed using watercolors and wanted to paint something. I also used Photoshop for minor edits. I hope you like it! [link] [comments] |
Just finished my sunlight shield Posted: 09 Jun 2020 11:04 PM PDT |
Posted: 09 Jun 2020 10:05 PM PDT I just beat gwyn, no parries bc I'm physically unable to and honestly he was harder than artorias and manus for me. but now I've officially completed all of soulsborne and the DLCs! never again. listening to the credits music right now is way too cathartic, I can't believe I didn't go hollow. praise the sun! Posted: 10 Jun 2020 05:36 AM PDT First time playing, and I get to Taurus Demon. Everything's going well; I have the gold pine resin, and I plunged him. I get him down to a sliver, one of his attacks nicks me, and I go flying off the edge... Looking forward to the rest of the game! Haha [link] [comments] |
I've just beaten Gwyn by only parrying. Should I be proud or am I a casul? Posted: 10 Jun 2020 06:10 AM PDT I'm not sure. It felt easier than just scratching him with my weapon until he dies. Does parrying him make the fight too easy in your opinion? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Jun 2020 11:31 PM PDT I effin' love plin plin plon and the fight that goes along with it. Praise the sun and don't give up, skeleton. [link] [comments] |
Build ideas for tomorrow (Global Reset Day) Posted: 09 Jun 2020 09:52 PM PDT Tomorrow is Global Reset Day and starting a new character. Idea is to co-op bosses while keeping sl low. Only going to level to sl 50 tops (DLC). Have finished the game with a Cleric Knight and cookie-cutter quality builds. I do not run spell casters so no sorcerer, anything else welcome! If you are restarting DS1 tomorrow, what build are you going for? [link] [comments] |
Man Jams with Blacksmith Andre (Dark Souls) Posted: 10 Jun 2020 03:36 AM PDT This happened during a Dark Souls 1 blind run yesterday, I thought you guys might enjoy it: [link] [comments] |
What other games have an interconnected world similar to Dark Souls? Posted: 10 Jun 2020 05:27 AM PDT Outside of 2d Metroidvanias, I didn't know of any other games that had an interconnected world like Dark Souls, until I started playing Resident Evil 2 Remake. The starting area has you unlocking doors throughout the building which all end up leading back to the starting area, even as you progress through the game and move onto later areas, you still find new paths that lead back to the starting area. The game is far more linear than ds and mostly only gives you the illusion of choice when deciding where to go next, however once you finally open up all the doors and shortcuts, it's this interconnected sprall that I can only liken to that of the map in Dark Souls 1. Are there any other games out there that abide by similar world design principles to that of Dark Souls and Resident Evil 2? [link] [comments] |

What are your top 3 favorite boss battles in Dark Souls 1? Posted: 10 Jun 2020 02:33 AM PDT I've been playing Dark Souls nonstop this week and I'm finally at the final boss but before I do that I'm doing the DLC bosses. I'm getting my ass destroyed by Artorias. I legit don't know if I can't beat this guy. But yeah back to the question. What are your top 3 favorite bosses in DS1? Mine are:
(I'm positive that Artorias will make my top 3 if I beat him) [link] [comments] |
What’s the best way to beat Lautrec ? Posted: 10 Jun 2020 06:17 AM PDT His fucking spear guy keeps killing me and the sorcerer keeps dodging my lightning spears . [link] [comments] |
thoughts on moonlight butterfly Posted: 09 Jun 2020 08:24 PM PDT should they have put it in the game in the first place or would you rather had them put a different boss there? maybe another lazy copy of asylum demon, that would be nice [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Jun 2020 02:28 PM PDT So I'm a little more than halfway through my blind play-through of DS1, and I'm absolutely flabbergasted by how much balls the developers had. They put in so many things that the player might not even see or experience, things like returning to the Undead Asylum and the Painted World, the Great Hollow, etc. I just killed Nito and I'm trying to avoid looking up anything about the game because I want to discover everything myself, although one thing I couldn't resist looking up on the wiki was this character from Firelink Shrine. So early on in the game, there's the cleric with that cleric lady and her two guards, and the cleric tells the player that she and her companions will be embarking on a secret mission soon. I went to Darkroot Garden and fought Sif, and when I came back they were gone. The cleric tells me they were supposed to be back by now but haven't returned. When I go down to the Catacombs to kill Pinwheel, I run into her outside the boss room. I went and did New Londo Ruins and opened the floodgate, and when I went down to the Tomb of the Giants and when Patches threw me into the pit, she's down there too and the two cleric guards have gone Hollow. I had to kill them and after I killed Nito she was gone. A little while later I go to visit my old friend Andre the Blacksmith because I got a shiny new ember for him, and on the way there I find the cleric lady in the church and now she's a merchant. It seemed so odd to me that she was popping up everywhere I went, so I had to look up the character on the wiki to see if she teleported around to various parts of the map at random or whether it was all just chance. Turns out it WAS just chance, and that if I didn't go to see Andre and find her in the church, she would have died, and had I bought all of her stuff she would have gone to the Duke's Archives and gone Hollow there. By pure kismet I got to see that little character story play out, and it makes me wonder about all of the people who missed it and how many character stories I've missed. One that I like so far is running into Siegmire outside of Sen's Fortress, then finding him in Anor Londo and having him return to Firelink Shrine. He's been saying he'll head below but so far I haven't run into him "below," yet, but maybe he'll turn up in Lost Izalith or something. Also haven't seen Solaire since Anor Londo so I'm assuming I'll run into him again somewhere. There's so many little stories happening all around us in the game that are easy to miss out on if you aren't paying attention, and I think it's fantastic. [link] [comments] |
Peak hours for switch PvP? [switch] Posted: 10 Jun 2020 05:49 AM PDT Just got switch remastered edition; char is SL 22 with +10 weapons and having some difficulty finding folks to fight in the depths. Last night from 9-11 EST there was some good activity, but I'm guessing earlier like 10a-7p are reasonable assumptions for when most players log on? When do you all play usually, and in what time zone? [link] [comments] |
Any other works similar to Gwyn's theme? Posted: 10 Jun 2020 05:45 AM PDT Lately I've found myself entranced by it and need more. Thanks [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Jun 2020 05:06 AM PDT I have been getting smashed so much by the 4 kings in NG+ that I needed to take a break and switched to sekerio. It's an awesome game you should all try it , I highly recommend. Big focus on parrying rather than dodging which is a nice change of pace. I'm hoping that by playing through sekerio I'll pick up some skills that will crossover to help me beat 4 kings. Fuck those guys I get close everytime but then I either get grabbed or 2 vs 1 and get smashed. If u play sekerio let me know what you think of it. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 09 Jun 2020 09:31 PM PDT (my first souls game ever!) I finally beat Artorias! It took me 3 days and 47 attempts but after carefully studying his telegraphs and failing most of the time to predict what he'd do, I finally got lucky enough to guess right and get the openings I needed. I nearly pooped myself when I got him down to like 4% hp and he starting just wildly swinging and I was also wildy swinging praying to land the final shot before his combos hit me. 15/10 boss fight. While it was INSANELY difficult, he forced me to play differently and adapt to his fighting style. Well designed moveset and arena to boot. The sign of a great boss fight is when you die you have to step back and think where YOU messed up, and never thinking what stupid mechanic got you killed. My biggest trap is I'd be he'd do only two forward flip slam attacks and 2/3s of the time I would unblock or stop dodging, he'd hit me with a 3rd forward flip and I'd panic and die. The first 10 deaths were actually me just running around in circles trying to read him. Every death left me wanting to fit in one my try at him. I never felt mad or frustrated, just in awe of how incredibly well done this boss fight is. I cannot wait to fight him again in NG+! I'm not worried about Kalmeet, but boy and I pumped to fight Manus. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Jun 2020 05:01 AM PDT Just got an email from future press confirming the reprint of the Dark souls compendium this summer! I was not able to get it the first time around, super stoked! Here is a copy of the email I received. "Thanks for reaching out, and we apologize for the late response. Good news though! We're going to reprint the Compendium this summer. We'll announce the pre-order on our website and social media channels once we've narrowed down the dates, so as long as you check them periodically, you won't miss it. Hope you enjoy the book. Posted: 10 Jun 2020 01:11 AM PDT It was my easiest boss fight tbh.. What a bunch of pussies. My armour was the Crimson Red Cloth Robe and the rest Black Iron Armour. I had the +15 Claymore with the charcoal pine resin. I'm listing all these down to just say was I overpowered against them? They did okay damage (40-50% of my health) when I was far-ish. Once I got really close to them they were doing like 10% damage while I just tanked their hits and went to Kingdom come with the Claymore two handed. Easiest Pinwheel-level boss fight really.
